For me it worked as it was supposed to, in fact I'm going to do it again shortly to pick up another Truggy that I do not see frequently posted.

You are right people should research more before sending money and of course send money the right way. What I don't understand are folks constantly clowning folks who get taken.

I also understand getting frustrated by seeing people lose money the same way time after time on the dispute board, but not everyone is as saavy on the internet as some. Folks tend to trust more than they should. But getting taken for money shouldn't lead to folks making fun of them for having been conned.

Tell them the options they have available and how they can keep it from happening in the future.

Contact PP, sometimes they will refund a friends and family payment.

I haven't either but always worth a try before accepting an expensive lesson learned. IMO PayPal doesn't always make the right decision anyway.

Now what if you pay f&f with credit card then you dispute the charge.

Always use the cc so your covered by pp, as long as you don't use the f&f , that way if pp decides not to cover it, the cc company can follow the paper trail and get your money back.

I've heard of PayPal letting "first time offenders" dispute a Friends/Family payment that was actually for Goods/Services. No tellin' if they still do that, but it's worth a try. Call up PayPal and find out. It might also help that there's at least 3 other claims against the same guy.

HBALLDAY went on a fraud/theft rampage with clear/obvious intent. Seems to me that if there was ever cause to organize and involve the 5-0, this is it.

I remember years ago someone did something similar on another forum and the authorities did step up and pursue him, luckily most used the cc for a charge back.
