If someone backs out before payment is made, then really there is no transaction so feedback isn't appropriate. A transaction is completed when the payment is made from the sellers end and when the item is received from the buyers end. Just like you can't walk into walmart and call dibs on something on sale, it's not yours until you pay for it.

Ahhh, I see that now... Skimmed over the original account a bit too quickly.
Doesn't change the fact the seller should have honored the original terms of the transaction, and doesn't change my opinion that the seller deserves negative feedback. The strike against the seller's rating might discourage such behavior in the future, and warn buyers of his previous dealings with other members that visit this forum.

No money changed hands, and no product was shipped - therefore no transaction was made... Got it.

I just wish there was a way to know ahead of time how reliable someone is.
A member could be making a deal with someone who only follows through 1 out of 5 times and not know it, because it's allowed for members to do so, and waste the other party's time.
Not to mention other potential sales/purchases that could go through without a hitch. I've had things like this happen a few times on here, and other forums. Most of the time they just stop responding, and you're stuck with waiting for an extra day or two to find out whether or not they are still working with you, or were just wasting your time.
It's aggravating I tell you! aggravating!

THIS is the reason that I feel feedback shouldn't be reserved for completed transactions exclusively. Those that make deals and fail to follow through with them should be exposed, potentially saving buyers some time and effort. Leaving feedback and a detailed account of what transpired serves this purpose.

If we allowed feedback on transactions that almost but never happened, all sorts of character assassination would occur, someone annoyed for missing a bargain could in theory bag out the seller for picking another buyer over them etc....
Opens up a huge can of worms.

Nice. so I got another message today from him saying sorry, but now he has an rc18 and an exotek his brother wants to sell for $225 if I'm interested. Why would I buy two cars for more than what he wanted to sell me 6 or 7 for before???
I told him not to contact me again, and that I haven't mentioned his name, but he should look for this thread in the trader forum.
seriously, why the hell did he think I was going to be willing to pay $225 to him for two used 18th scales after all that?
