I will run the scenario by you guys and gals.

Made a deal to trade cars.

I made a mistake and thought he had a higher trader rating than I did. Totally my fault. He has 0 trader rating.

I shipped the car yesterday, gave him tracking numbers. He said would ship toady. I was at work and reliazed I never gave him my address. I texted him the address. He read it around noon. At 5pm I texted again to be sure he shipped. No response. I texted again at 6pm, "hello" no response.

I put a hold on package. I think I should ship the package back to me. If he wants it, I will wait for his to arrive. Then I will reship.

Does this sound fair? I gave him the opportunity to answer my texts.

Return it to ur house ASAP, Never trust the PO to keep a hold on a package. Reroute it now. GO DO IT. Sorry haha, Thats my experience I place da hold on a package and they still delivered it to the guy.

Yeah something was already wrong. He should have ask you you're addie to ship too, while the deal was being done. He didn't, first alarm bell. Not responding to you're texts, second alarm bell.
Yeah get the package back.

I am mixed on that, I would like to let the OP play this along a little more before opening that can of worms up. It most likely will come to that, but rushing there can be an issue itself.

Could he have gotten the OP's text, read it like he says, and then shipped the item? Not yet taking the time to respond to the text with a tracking number for his end of the deal? It's obviously not hard to reply to a text and communication is a huge deal with any transaction BUT I wouldn't openly call him out and says he's a scammer at this point.

The OP did the right thing and had his item rerouted to himself. If the other guy is on the "up and up" he should have no issue with the OP not shipping his item until his arrives at this point.

Anyone remember what I've ALWAYS said about trades..??

but a bigger issue is if someone makes a deal with this guy while the OP plays this waiting game. IMO, there's enough there to get the guy's name out. if he comes through, you can edit and post the resolution.

Oh, I agree that is why i did NOT give his name. It is just a little fishy. And I would rather be safe than sorry. B44.2 with tekin rspro is a lot to have sitting and waiting. I just wanted to be sure I was making the right decision. This COULD be a misunderstanding. Better safe than sorry.

I agree, I was going off just on USPS will sometimes still deliver when you place a hold and don't reroute. Keep his name private until you get a hold of him.
