Default Don't trade with NM RACING - now resolved

Traded my novarossi .21 with NM RACING and got a beat up Orion 1/8 brushless. Opened the shipping box and it stunk like burnt marshmallows... I thought this may be bad.
Pulled the top of the motor off and dirt fell out and the stator & rotor & screws were rusted.
Here's his link of his motor he was selling.
1/8 brushless combo (xerun 80amp/ orion vortex 8)
Described it as bought for $160, new. Ran for ten minutes and decided he liked nitro better.
All of that except that he ran this motor for 10 minutes was a lie.
He has a great motor and I have a paper weight as I would not run this in anything I own and it's not worth rebuilding.
My motor & pipe traded...
Novarossi P5X .21 buggy motor - 5hrs

NM RACING must have recieved this in trade or something and got ripped off. He did not pay $160 for this as that would be a new motor. He drove it for ten minutes and it looks like it has been run for more than a season and the buggy got hosed off after every day of racing.

NM RACING said that I must have messed it up since I got it. It shipped to my office on Friday after I left, didn't go in to the office until today. Even if I got it on Friday I must have put a seasons worth of wear on it and soaked it in salt water for it to get to that condition from the I just bought it for $160 condition he said he sent it in.

Someone, probably they guy he got it from has had the end cap off. You can see where the washer wasn't lined up right when they tried to put the screws back in.

Here's a broken o-ring worn out after 10 minutes of driving and the build up on the end of the bearing that you would expect after driving it for 10 minutes

The 0.25mm wear on the back plate from 10 minutes of driving

How you would expect bullets to look after driving for a few minutes browned & some melting

Have name & address, giving him one more chance to reverse the trade or offer something else besides this throw away motor.

Already gave him the chance, he said that he's done with rctech and moving on to rcuniverse.

sorry to see that happened to you man. If you need a 1/8 brushless setup, I have one available if that helps.

I pulled out my novarossi to convert to 550 can and thought I may use a 1/8 brushless sometime or another, don't need it now. Thanx though.

Just putting this out there so others don't get ripped off.

Maybe I can post the string of texts from today where he went from it was a new motor with 10 minutes on it to "I" ran it for 10 minutes.

The guy probably got it in trade from someone that ripped him off and he didn't know enough to recognize the strong smell of burnt marshmallows (dont know how you cant) and never opened up the motor or noticed the crunching dirt when you spin the shaft. That's giving him the extreme benefit of the doubt.
But whatever, that's not my trade. Now he spun it off to me so it's on him.

ouch! my castle 1800kv looks better than this motor after a year of hard use! Hopefully NM Racing will do the right thing and return yours, although it looks like he's suspended so that's unlikely.

I've actually never seen a motor that beat. Not even other peoples and especially nothing I would ever run.
Yeah, doesn't seem like it, suspended or not I have contact with him by cell text and he is of the mind that he's in the right and I must have done something to it

I even threw in this nitro motor bearing puller without telling him, not part of the deal, I'm a nice guy. Seemed like he was too. I wasn't going to use it, figured he would appreciate it.
new ofna bearing puller tool kit

Damn that really sucks. I almost traded with that guy for one of my spare .21s. Funny thing was he wanted pics of the inside of the engine to make sure their was no dirt in it!! I might still have his email address if you need it, sorry for a deal gone bad.

Not sure, I did see someone get banned a few months ago for trying to rip someone off and someone that saw the thread and knew him from a local track pointed out his name. A moderator got involved and drove at the same track or knew someone there and got it worked out. The guy was shorted a servo or something from the returned truck, but he got most if it back.

NM RACING said that he was restricted because he had more than one registration from the same IP address, he said it was his sons. He's mad at rctech and everyone that's riped him off so he's going to rcuniverse now.

I'm on my phone at work. I'll give more detail in the morning on the situation with NM Racing.
