Default Best way to trade?

Anyone have any advice on trading? I'm looking to trade one of my summits, but I've never traded anything because I don't want to lose my truck with nothing to show for it. So any advice would be great.

With something as valuable as a Summit, I almost think you'd be better off selling the Summit and then purchasing the other truck that you want.

Just remember, lower feedback ships first. If that means you would be the first shipper, I would suggest doing as much homework and asking as many questions as possible. If possible, try to trade with someone that you know.

What is the trade you're thinking about?

He has 56 posts in 5 years, every single one of them is in the for sale/trade forums. I myself would be wary unless you could meet him in person. That's just my opinion. He is not really a part of the community, only using the forums to buy a couple of things. But with his 5 feed back make him ship first.

I would be very VERY careful who you trade with. To reduce the risk make sure they have been a member for a long time, with lots of posts, also make sure they have a good amount of feedback. I would also request to talk to them over the phone just so everything is clear. Still a bit risky IMO, for me I would always ask they ship first, but thats because i've kind of earned it with my feedback. One more thing, i personally would not trade outside of the U.S. To much hassle and risk IMO.

No way, unless he's shipping first AND coughing up some cash in the deal. For what your Summit is worth used, you could buy a brand new Stampede VXL 4x4.

My buddy got a stampede vxl a while back, he is not inexperienced with rc. Hates it, it breaks all the time, always an issue with it. Keep the summit or get an erevo.

My buddy has had many traxxas rc's, and also 1/8 buggies. The stampede vxl is not one he would buy again.

Yes, lower feedback ships first. Feedback is important, but also make sure the feedback is not mostly as a buyer, since that tells you nothing of the persons word or character. Trades and sales is what counts in feedback.

I don't think trading is a bad thing. You just have to be smart about it. Some of us cannot afford to always buy new stuff, so when you trade both parties get something they want and rid of something they don't. Its usually a win win situation.
