Bad deal with rast4man
New guy to this forum. I've been lurking for awhile and thinking about getting into nitro dirt oval. Saw rast4man's post with several nitro touring cars. Created a user account so I could respond to his ad. I made an offer to him via PM, he responded with his phone number, we talked, I paid for the cars (7/24) before the phone call was over.
The agreement was that he would ship them on the 26th and send an email with the tracking number. That day comes and goes and nothing. I wait until the 28th and send an email asking if they've been shipped and if so, does he have a tracking number for me. The next day he informs me he's had an accident and should be able to ship them in the next few days.
On 8/3 he informs me that he has everything packed up and would I be interested in a few extra parts (at no charge). Of course I would and thank you. Btw, any idea when you will be shipping?
August 13th rolls around and I send him an email to find out when he would be shipping. He responds that day that he has been closing on a house and would be shipping immediately (there's that word again).
On 8/17 I still have no package, no email saying he shipped, nothing. I send an email that was firm but polite informing him that if I didn't have a tracking number, or a full refund by the 19th that I would pursue other avenues (PayPal and/ or law enforcement) to get my money back. I have since initiated a resolution, now escalated to a claim through PayPal and I've heard absolutely nothing in return.
This guy had feedback rating of 100% with 29 deals here on RCTech. I think I've been more than understanding and more than patient. Bottom line is that he has $275 of my money and all I have is excuses and promises. I learned a long time ago through ebay and other sites to leave a paper trail which is why all communications have been via email. Why would someone who has done so many good deals go rogue?
Anyway, sorry for the novel, just wanted to let any other potential buyers from this guy know what happened with me.

I dont think you are the only one somebody else in his sale thread hasnt recived thier goods either

Just wanted to update that PayPal decided in my favor and they were able to recover the entire amount he owed me. Other than the wasted time, at least I'm not out anything.

I already did that when I posted this thread. Wanted to make sure other potential buyers would be aware even if they didn't see this post.
