A total of 31 Drifters from 3 districts Brunei Muara, Tutong & Belait including 1 drifter from Miri participated in this event. This is DBD's first event and after weeks of preparation, the big day finally came for us to host 31 drifters who are ready to qualify for the Top 16 spots in the qualification round.

Drifters came as early as 8am in the morning to try out the track which consist of short quick straights accompanied by sharp hairpin turns, a flyover bridge over the track and a quick quarter pipe which was quite steep and narrow to make the whole drift race challenging. Teams and individuals then proceed to have the commitee check their new unused control tyres 'Drifter street F2' and use the time they have to try out the track on F2 tyres. Briefing was made to ensure every drifters understand the rules and format of the race. As usual, Drift-Tech's format was use in the point system and an additional point system was added for the quarter pipe as we manage to catch some drifters getting stuck on the pipe or didnt have enough momentum and power from their slides to achieve the slide across the pipe.

The race initially came to a start at 10.30am and since it was our first time organizing such race, the first qualifying round took us more than an hour to complete with only 1 drifter among the 31 managing to complete the whole track with a maximum point of 300.

Then it was a break for an hour for lunch and the midday prayer as we prepared for the 2nd and 3rd qualifying round. The heat of the sun was very unbearable as comittee and drifters tried to beat it throughout the whole 3 qualifiers. Best time was set with maximum points intact and everyone did their best to mantain their points and time by then.

As we proceed to the knockout stage of the Top 16 drivers, what we have feared all this time finally came true. The heavy downfall of rain which lasted for 5 hours stopped the race and we had meetings with the remaining drifters who agreed to have the remaining event postponed to another date in the near future. We would like to apologize for that as we are in no control of mothernature's cause of act. However a date will soon be announced and on behalf of DBD, we would like to thank all drifters for their support in our event. So we hope to see the remainding participants as soon as we set our dates. Thank you very much all.

Thanks! Yes it was weeks of drawing and planning. The building of the bridge and quarter pipe took the comitee 5 long nights to complete even till the very last minute. The obstacle was built for the drifters to have a feel of the track and also to make it more challenging. In the future, we will be planning on more obstacles but base on less damage to the chassis of course!

Yes Pentagonist, the quarter pipe have proven disasterous if you do not cross it carefully and if your shell is lying too low. A few drifters lower lip have been found torn and most of the shells have scratches on them. To those who cleanly cleared the quarter pipe have found themself safe from these damages. Bah main tah karang malam lagi if cuaca mengizinkan. Cya soon!

DB Drifters have hold a meeting and decide that it is best to continue the search for our quater finalist on the 21st or 22nd November 2009 and proceed to finish the race by then. The first 12 drifters have already battled it out leaving only 4 drifters battling it out to finish the Top 16 and proceed to the Quater finals of the Top 8 Drifters..

If ok semua, kami ingin tahu bila convenient untuk kamu mengabiskan race ani..
