OK, I havn't read the whole thread, but, has anyone thought of running the races longer than 5 mins, instead of dropping cells, you could run motors with more windings which would slow the car down a little and increase run time.

correct me if im wrong but u would still have to deal with over heating motors and possibly batteries (i think)?
is this true?

Thats the exact opposite of what Japan has just done, they've moved from 8min racing with 6 cells to 5 min racing the 4 cells.

They still ran low wind motors, they just geared them to be screaming most of the way down the straight instead of near the end only.
