Air compressor recommendations for cleaning.

Air compressor recommendations for cleaning.
Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a decent air compressor that is fairly quiet, small in size and has enough psi to clean all the dirt from the car. Does such a beast exist ?
I'm tired of using the $2 brush that can't get to the dirt trapped around the bearings.
Thanks in advance.

Take a look at Super Cheap as they always have great deals on little compresors. I have a 120ltr 1.5hp and it works great cleaning the crud form my truck.

like Brad said, a compressor can push the dirt in the bearings. as long as you keep this in mind when using one, it is fine.
if you have rubber seal bearings you won't (in 95%) of cases, push any dirt into the bearings if you use serpent powerputty to take away the excess dirt around the bearings before using a compressor.
what i normally do is:
-always brush my car down in between races, to keep dirt at a minimum
-use power putty after each full race day to get rid of the dirt around the bearings and cvd's (a brush around these areas can push dirt further into the cvd, so i don't use a brush here)
-use a compressor to clean the car once i have done the above power putty routine
works fine for me. i also strip the car down to parts every two meets or so. but i don't race often so this, for me, isn't excessive (equates to roughly 1 full tear down per month)
get the GMC 2hp jobber from bunnings. works excellent.
