Peeled back the new track layout yesterday. It's pretty dam cool. Love the table tops.
Hopefully not literally Kiwi, we have been keeping the track carpeted and getting water on it most nights to preserve the awesome work Simon Healy and his crew have done in preparation of the upcoming vics

Questions?? 1:10 buggy motor help

Hi,

I have a durango dex210 RTR which came with a sensored speedpassion 13.5 turn ultrasportsman V3.

I thought about getting a 9.5t or 8.5t for speed gain. is this a good idea? should I stick to my 13.5t?

I found a Turnigy TrackStar 8.5T Sensored Brushless Motor 4620KV (ROAR approved) in the hobbyking site. does anybody have experience with that brand? is it good? it seems significantly cheaper than bigger brands,e.g.:Orion.

Thanks

Speed gain?
Only thing you should be worried about is lap times!
On a sunny non race day run your 13.5 setup against the guys at the pointy end of stock.
If you can keep up no problem I'd consider a 10.5 as an entry to Mod racing.
If you struggle keeping up go to stock 17.5 and work on your racing lines and throttle control.
13.5 is a bit of an in between best of no worlds.
8.5 if your not up to it you'll just shred tyres and end up breaking stuff.
Good luck Mate hope that helped

We have the trackstar motors, they are pretty good and definitely worth the money.

I agree with the the comments above about speed. You should really have a look at the club lap times in each class on the results page of the website. You will see that the guys running mod, are no faster than those running in 17.5 stock.

As nexxus said on your other thread, go for a good 17.5 over the 13.5 you have, and that will give you what you need, and you can adjust the timing for speed.

Hi,

Thanks DanOK and kiwitim. I'm looking into getting a 17.5 t motor now.

One more question, I read about prices and rules in the Knox rc club site but what else do I need to go and start racing? when can one use the track just for learning? I mean without getting in the way of the guys who are already good and serious racers.

I am new to this and just want to go use the track, practice, learn and maybe later on participate in races.

Cheers

There is a novice class (any motor) so have a go in that. It's for starting out. It's free the first time. The track is open all the time unless there's a comment on here or at the track about it being closed for repairs etc. Racing is this Sunday. Starts about 10am and you need to register before then for the day. Good times. I only started 6 months ago.

Default Racing Cancelled.

There will be no racing today, as the track is too wet.
