Hey mate 5th racing happens the 4th Sunday in each month.
There should have been a race meet this coming Sunday but we brought that forward to the second Sunday this month as the S.A State Titles are being run this weekend coming.
It's pretty common for this to occur if there is a date clash like this so anyone who wishes to attend a major event doesn't miss out on our club series.
Our next meeting will be as usual on the 26th of March, as far as I'm aware at this point.
Your more than welcome to come along and check out the cars/people/racing and see what's it's all about.
As for buying a competitive 5th scale car. Not a lot of shops carry the race spec gear as it can be expensive to start out, so I guess they don't see the point as it's not something that they would turn over on a regular basis.
Most of the brands have some sort of track side representation however with the people involved in importing them, racing them.
Some brands are represented locally, whilst others are from interstate. Coming to the track would be the best way to get in contact with the brand that might interest you the best.
Alternately you will often find that someone will have used equipment for sale at the track as well. It might be that they are upgrading to the most recent model or alike so you could pickup a bargain there.
Might see you there.

I think it was c.1996 from memory Andrew, yes that is Bob Young.
Possibly Michael Stravoloplous is next to me in the Serpent shirt??
Down below is Les Robinson, Mick Green?? refueling and of course Mr Grant (thats what I used to call him when I was 15!)
From memory around this time Novarossi introduced the long stroke engine and I think this was the race meeting where everyone virtually ran out of engines....

Good Luck
Hi Guy's....yes I know it's been a long time from racing for me but I'd like to say a couple of things.
Firstly I hope you all have an amazing Nationals event this coming week at Moorebank...Enjoy, Have Fun, Race Hard & beat the shit out of the Queenslanders Lol...
Secondly I'd like to thank the Moorebank club, my friends I've made over the years, the racers, everyone I've been involved with over the years for giving me such great racing, fun amazing times and great memories to last for ever. I've decided to give up RC with a broken heart Lol and I'll miss you guy's & racing immensely.
It has just become to hard with work & family to make the commitment to continue. It just becomes a constant battle with work which is not enjoyable.
I have thought about this long & hard over the last 12 months (it's been a very hard decision) but I need to have an interest that I can do anytime & not dictated to by work, clubs or the weather.
Wishing you all the very best in life & your racing...
Cheers Dazza
