Good racing today at Helles Park, had one good heat which was the first and managed a mere 15 5:11 the other 3 heats i cut out and stripped a gear in one.
Still managed to qualify 7th in the A, car was good in practice 30 min before the A started then from first lap it was just all over the place but still managed to get a 19.912 best lap. Nothing like Chris Reade's 19.4 or Simon's 19.05 but still decent considering car wasn't that good.
Finished 5th in A althought didn't actually finish the A i had engine problems but luckily lasted a bit longer than a few others . Really enjoyed today's racing, haven't been out there in about 6 months so it was fun and Stuart's commentary just adds to the fun.
Good win to Chris Reade, poor Simon.N didn't finish but was way ahead don't know what happened to him.
Nice to see 4 1/8 cars racing
Cheers,
Matt

you drove well Matt.
us old folk have to watch out for young wipper snippers like you.
Because you guys just get quiker. Great to see some new faces out there yesterday.
I didnt even break the 20sec barrier in final, felt fast but tied to just keep car going and not chunk any tires, and it worked, only 3 to 4 laps behind speedy readey.
What tires did you use, I tested 40s for the final but they were too slow, so i went back to 37s.
Did you ask simon or Bardetta for a bit of setup help?

I was tossing up between 37's and 40's all day, with 37's i had a little bit too much grip and i could feel the car starting to pitch over a bit so i went to 40's and lowered the rear shock position one to keep it ok and it was really good in practice 30 min before.
But when final came along the first lap it was taily and i thought oh shit maybe it will get better but it didn't i tried keeping up but couldn't push it without it sliding out. Funny thing is with mine it felt like it was slow but i still did 19 and in heats when it felt fast i was doing 20.080.
Motor was a big problem though all day had no bottom end then i lean it out a bit for final its pretty good, but then just wouldn't go so that was a mistake or it might of been thrust bearing in the clutch.
But it was still a good day atleast i got it setup, just fine tune everything now, i'll have to borrow simon's setup
Nothing like vrc though

OK sorry again
1st sunday NT 1/10th plus the pullstart and beginner and electric
3rd sunday of each month 1/10th and 1/8th.
you can still run a pullstart and beginners on the 3rd sunday, they will just run with the normal 1/10th gas tourers,
1st sunday of each month, the beginners and pullstart and electric have their own race set up for them.
so if you have a 1/10th Nitro Tourer, come to JGIR Helles park Moorebank on the 1st and 3rd sunday for some great racing action and also see some of the best drivers in australia in action.
Like the current Aussie champ Simon nicholson 1/10th
and Wayne Walker 1/8th, also Darren Campbell the current NSW state champ for a few more weeks at least.
