Default Anyone bought anything from an American?

Is it safe buying from U.S people from these forums?

And how long would something take to reach Australia?

Is there any difficulties tranferring money?

Cheers

I would be very hesitant to buy off an individual in the USA or any country. I would much rather buy off a reputable online hobby supplier e.g. stormer hobbies, or tower hobbies e.t.c.

Parcels take around 6-12 days.

I have purchased over 10 items from people in the american for sale section, each deal has gone smooth and all items have arrived in great condition and promptly...

The only problems i have had is every now and then you get some idiot trying to overcharge you for shipping charges, delivery time is dependant on how they send it, i usually ask them to send it priority mail which tales 4-6 days from the US..

There is a feedback forum that you can check users feedback, so just type the user's name in the search funtion and search the feedback forum to check there feedback, ill never buy from anyone with any less than flatering feedback..

Another way to cover your ass is to pay via PAYPAL, because if you get shafted you can lodge a dispute and 9/10 times you ususally get your money back although i have never had to do this, the other thing is avoid new users, i usually buy from people that are well known or been on the forum for a while...

what are you planning on buying from the us? look at what your saving compared to if u bought it here, if the saving is only small, buy it here and help out the industry, and the hobby shops, because with everyone doing what u want to do, there wont be many hobbyshops left, and then you will be upset

Just another opinion??!!

I have bought a few items from the US section of the for sale items. Pleased to say that they all turned up and worked very well. Payment is by paypal and i chose shipping with the USPS Global express (EMS) with tracking number. Biggest thing bought was the Helios. Buying electrical items such as charger and power supply just have to watch the voltage though.

Thanks guys!

Tony - I know exactly what your saying and to be honest i do feel a little guilty but this thing is so damn cheap! I couldn't let it go

I usually buy the big stuff from the states and buy the little things from my LHS like wheels, tyres, spare parts etc

pathetic,

and you wonder why people have to buy overseas, keep it up mate, i bet you get a sponsor soon, haha.

for those that suport there local hobby shops, whith results you will get prices cheaper than os, and because you have been loyal, you will get great suport, a friendly face and you will be able to sleep at night knowing your helping someone stay alive.

I know of a FTB4 used only at the Vic titles at Wodonga, going for around $300.

I you showed up to a meeting or to, you could ask us guys , and we would help you out.
