hehehe live and learn. has anyone tryed running rears at mbank?

here is my setup. i think it is capable of a 15 lapper.

with full bmi kit, chassis and topdeck and front rear shock towers (rear towers and front slightly different)
FRONT
purple springs (didn't try other springs)
ride height generally 4mm or at most 4.25
just a little bit of lift when holding tires down and lifting from top deck
4 hole
30 wt oil
zero toe
2 degree camber
no swaybar
oneway
40 fronts started at 60 mm
shock at top position on tower (didn't try other settings)
camber linkage on outside shock tower hole (didn't play around with this setting though)
anti squat front screw (closer to bumper at top hole) rear screw at bottom
6 degree caster block
ackerman extension plates on hubs

REAR
purple springs (didn't try other springs)
played around with ride height sometimes 4.5ish sometimes 4.25
around 2 to 2.5 the amount of lift at the rear compared to front
4 hole
30 wt oil
2 degree toe
2.5 degree camber (but one tyre could of used 2)
no swaybar
diff at a certain setting..can't really explain it. rather tight.
40 rears started at roughly 61 or 62 mm
shock at top position on tower (didn't try other settings)
camber linkage on bottom hole (didn't play around with this setting though)
anti squat front screw (closer to bumper at top hole) rear screw at bottom

24 tooth pinion with standard spur and hacker 6T with u force 75 version 3 went to 25 tooth at finals VERY QUICK!!

blue screws throughout

Yeah i ran 42R on the front and 40R on the Rear, I hope to spend more time ON the track to compare times with others

I think Josh Kemp ran the same tyre setup also

yeah reason i ask is 40 rears at the front with VHT would def be too grippy. don't you have too much steering on the sweeper though? only reason i ask is cuz i could of used a tinnnnnny bit more exit steering, but i think this is more down to droop settings and maybe slightly harder springs.

also felt i could of done with a touch more steering on the mid to exit of the keyhole and the hairpin before entry to back straight.

if only i could solve the stupid "mysterious stuttering motor or esc" issue

Well i was quite pleased with racing on Sunday, i am glad to say that the atmosphere has improved dramatically since i was last there, with the rockape doing a great job of running the day smoothly, even with some entertaining commentary during the finals

Still wasnt a huge fan of the long track layout, but Dazza stressed that in future meetings the reverse short track will be run, with segregated practice for Electric and noisy.

Overall if yesterday was a indication of things to come, i can only see the electric side of moorebank growing.

Kambah is what you call mega grip!! Moorebank would be considered good grip but not over the top.

Initially i ran 'Fronts' on the fronts and struggled with getting enough steering all day. In the 2nd leg of the finals, I switched to 'rears' all round and finally got the steering i wanted and was 1sec quicker each lap.

short track is great and it "feels" tighter than the track in a CW direction. the corner entering the straight is a hair raiser also.
might give the rears at the front a go also.

i went down to see some of the last finals. i got to say thats one nice track. and i can't believe the speed the nitro's get to down that straight. can't wait to race on it.

i think it they are going to have these nitro and electric days they should invest in some lights so they can run futher in the night.(especially now with daylight saving over).

this can only be done if you support the club and join up as a member. hopefully this day has also acted as a good "lets attract new club members" drive.

well i have got the same problem you have with winsor. thats its pretty far away. i think about 40mins not counting the time where i got lost. .

i will definatly race there but not every race meet. and plus i thik the next race meet is the same time as the round 2 club challenge.
