Default Gold Coast Challenge Update April 23-24

Hi Guys

The Gold Coast is looking forward to seeing a lot of R/C racers next weekend.

Top drivers already entered are:
Andy Cooke, Pat Dowling, Andrew Abbott, Josh Kemp, Tony Porreiro and Rick Bartolozzi. Dave Smith editor of Racing Lines will also be present.

Just one change.
The 3pm start has been pushed back to, 5pm open for practice with a 6pm start for the Saturday EP Event. Due to the Net Ball club deciding to run an event prior to ours.

On the bright side the Gold Coast City Council has offered us land for an R/C Facility so by the end of this year early 2006 we will have a world class On-Road Track and facilities, Off-Road Track and a drag strip also.

Come and race with us this Long Weekend and then plan for some of the best racing on our new track Anzac weekend 2006.

Sorry I did leave out the expected finish time.

Based on last years numbers we will finish at 11.30pm.

If we get more entries than expected the race format will change to finish the meet at 11.30

Hope this is of help to you.

Default Sunday

Sunday will be as advertised in the entry form.

Gas events
Nitro Tourer Side exhaust class
Pro Tourer Rear Exhaust Class
1/8th

Entries look like at least two fields for Pro tourer

Not enough pre entries to confirm more than one class for the other two fields. But if numbers are simmilar to the last event we should see at least two fields of the Tourers and at least one for the 1/8th field.

Track will be open for practice from day light untill start time of 9am.

Look forward to seeing you all.

Default Re Pic

You can find pic in the latest Racing Lines Mag, where there is an article on the last Gold Coast challenge.

But if you think of the size of 4 net ball courts with a track that has a 60mtr main straight for gas and one of the best infield driveing you will have in a long time.

Default Entering

Easiest way to enter is to:
Go to www.alycat.com
Open Drivers entry page (red writing top r/h corner)
use pull down menu on new page that opens and select "Gold Coast"
Enter drivers details, frequencies, Personal transponder number if you have one, use pull down menu to select class and enter email address click on enter button and you will recieve an email confirming you entry.

Pay on arrival and scrutineering.

How to find the MDSA grounds at Firth Park.

Cnr of Sommerset Dr and The Link Way, Mudgeeraba.

If comming from the south take the Mudgeeraba exit:
Left at round about, left at next intersection then first left into MDSA car park. (MDSA visible fronm the M1)

From the North take the North Robina Exit:
Right at roundabout, cross M1, left at roundabout, follow the road to a "T" intersection, turn right you are now heading for the roundabout described above.

We have one full field of 540 and Modified for the EP event so far. Looks like at least two fields for each class.

Pro touring and Nitro look to be big also and at this stage one field of 1/8th.

Looking forward to some great raceing

Peter

Drove down for a look see this afternoon and to visit some mates up from Sydney for the meeting. It was starting to piss down as we left to head back to Brisbane around 4:30 pm. They were just starting to setup the track then so don't know if they have been able to run.

Cheers Al
