Default 1st Annual Electric On-Road Masters

1st Annual Electric On-Road Masters

Later this year on October 20th we will be running the 1st Annual Electric On-Road Masters.

This is an Electric only event to be held at the Ryde, Brushfarm complex.

Transponders will be in use, and the track will be constructed using PVC piping. 240 volt mains power is also available.

October 20th places this race 2 weeks prior to the Nationals so the event will serve as a great warm-up event. Everyone can test their lastest killer cells!

Saturday 19th : track will be open for free practice, we may even hold a three round practice event Satyrday night

Sunday 20th: will consist of 3 rounds of qualifying and 3 finals for all groups and classes. + a BBQ breakfast in the morning.

Classes will be:

ISTC Modified
ISTC Stock
540 V8
Novice
Formula 1 (19x2)

official entry forms and more details to follow

BK can we see if we can get 12th scale onto this program.

As there's a few of us that are running them at the nationals and we'll need as much track time as possible to learn how to get them around the track let alone drive them.

F1 Class would be a good place to put them if there were only a couple, but if there were enough for a seperate heat, im sure this would be accomodated, so if you want the class get the commitment from people who will run it. Sorry, i wont be one of them, i cant even focus on the little bastards, as they shoot around the track like slot cars

If the 1/12th guys can get 5 together give em a race of their own otherwise they shouldn't get a go. Remember there is a performance difference - F1 19x2, 1/12th open modified. If you put them together they will use each other as braking points and neither set of drivers will be happy.

As an F1 driver the last thing I want is a slot car getting in the way when I am racing another F1. I'm sure the 1/12 guys would feel the same about having F1's getting in their way.

Besides we will be racing for sheep stations... won't we?

Well it shouldn't be a problem getting five, I know 3-4 definites already so as time gets closer I'm sure more will come out of the woodwork and dust them off, especially if there promoted as running at that meet. As this is just one of the reasons for why you don't see many around, (I know there's others).
After talking with people over the last couple of months it's suprising how many love driving them and don't cause no one's around to race. If we get the word out I think we could be suprised at how many and who would turn out for a bit of fun trying tokeep upwith the little blurs..

F1 is a bit the same. It only comes out for the big meets because it seems to be the only time they come out to play. Fortunately for me I can make run time with 2000's at CH in mod tourer because it is on concrete with rubber tyres and 4 minute races!

(3 litre cells are in the budget for later this year.)
