Default VINTAGE RACING for 2012 in NSW - General Discussion and events.

Hi guys,

Putting the "feelers" out

How does the June Long Weekend sound for the Vintage Festival at Casso? 2 Day event as usual.

Vintage Enduro on the Long Weekend in October.

Christmas Clash in December at St Ives.

Apologies for not being able to announce anything sooner, however the racing calendar for modern cars has been absolutely chockers until now. Also - I have actually been racing as well, and that kind of takes my attention from getting anything together.

Having said all this - if there are not enough willing participants/enthusiasts wanting to run in July, I would sooner save my time and effort and just make the Vintage enduro bigger than normal.

I myself am VERY keen to get on the track with a vintage again - how about you guys? Will need to know soon with regards to peoples thoughts.

Cheers

Darryn

That makes 4 of us!!

I am sure we will have a few more over the weekend!! (jeez I hope so!!)

It will be bigger and better than ever, as I have been doing bits and peices behind the scenes since last year. I know Mikey, Bagz and Dan are as keen as ever as well.

Cheers

hey Daz

nice work on getting the thread up and running for 2012

as you know, im keen to get racing vintage too, i've got a classic 2wd aswell as a vintage one (gold edition) this year

i'll be keen to hear from interstaters with regards to the enduro, whether they are willing to travel for 2-3 events in the year, or like you say, maybe make the enduro a bigger meet, i think we had 9 teams the last 2 years, i'd love to see some interstate teams in there too, get it up to the max 12 teams and hopefully a bigger variety of brands! Fuhrer would have to bring his rc10 though, which would probably be more reliable than his trx-1 by all accounts anyway, heheh

On a side note, just checked your website (which needs updating btw date-wise) www.darrynsretrorc.rtox.com, you have an INSANE collection on NIB's!! There would be a small fortune there if you base each kit $500-$2000.

On the subject, im keen to take the Fox out, also looking at a JRX2!

Unfortunately I have had alot of issues with access to the site over the years - thats only just over half of what I have NIB - then there is new built and restos and runners..I am a sick man.

Anyways - back on track...

It would seem the usual suspects are on board - hopefully some or all of the QLD crew will be able to make it. HOPEFULLY, someone from Melbourne will finally make the effort (other than Ant in the first year at Ryde) - I AM LOOKING AT YOU LUIS AND BRENDAN SOLA - especially for the Enduro!!

Anyways - will get things together over the weekend I hope - and we can guage interest from there. Live entries will be done (I am hoping Dan is still happy to do this for us) - giving a good indication on class sizes. Like all previous years that I have done - if a class cant make a minimum of 5 entries - it will be dropped - or combined if possible with a similar class.

Cheers for now

Darryn

And before it gets any further, as promised last year, this years ENDURO will be 2WD O N L Y !!

So get your comments out now so that the event can run without hassle or people with gripes.! Everyone seemed happy enough at the end of last year with this decision - but I thought I would get it out of the way now to save confusion later...

Cheers

Default Vintage @ St Ives

Darryn will St Ives be slated for a vintage meeting this year? Not sure of the tracks current lay out but the last I saw it looked pretty good. Also that place is over due for it hey?
