QMDRA demo at Drag Combat
The Cabin group has done it again. . .
If your into Drag racing, Willowbank in QLD was the place to be. Featuring the HKS GTR R33 and some of the fastest Rotary and Turbo machines in Australia.
Also invited was the members of the Queensland Model Drag Racing Association [QMDRA].
Saturday was rained out, however, the day cleared and all the Motor Mag photographers were keen to see some action on the track. The boys fired up the awsome Nitro and Electric Drag cars and lined up on the Willowbank Pro Tree start line for a practice session and professional photo shoot.
The weather cleared for racing on Sunday, the HKS GTR thrilled the thousands of spectators with 7.85 second passes down the 1/4 mile!
The QMDRA put on a number of demo runs for the huge crowd, Peter's Castrol 57 chev stole the show with his smoking burn outs!
In all, the sport of R/C motor racing has exposed it's self to the general public in a very proffesional manner, thanks to Jeff and the crew from QMDRA.
Check out www.dragcombat.com for more pics and info.
Look out for the QMDRA photo session, will post pics as they come to hand.
Cheers IDM
