I would like to thank all that attended the meeting last night. It was a good turn out.

A proposal was put to the club about running at a new indoor venue that is Currently being constructed in western Sydney. The proposal was voted in unanimously for WERC to run a weekly meet at this venue.

I am very happy to announce that WERC has a new home.

Please keep an eye on www.werc.org.au as updates on the new venue will be posted there.

Fantastic, another indoor venue. I'll be keen to hear the details: location, size, track surface, etc.

At this stage the exact location won't be revealed while it is being constructed. There are insurance implications if someone checks the place out and gets hurt.

However what i can tell you is that the track is in the hawkesbury region and closer to blacktown and parramatta than whrc was.

The surface will most likely painted surface, it will not be rugged up at this stage.

The dimensions of track will be approximately 35 x 20 give or take a metre.

As we have more details regarding the track we will update www.werc.org.au.

I am personally very excited about this, i can't wait to cut some laps and have some laughs on a race night.

Cheers
Jason

I've done a lot of work looking at track dimensions lately trying to meet AARCMCC rules within a slightly smaller area. A 35 x 20 area is just about the smallest possible area you could use and still meet the layout requirements of 200 m minimum length (inner boundary line) and the minimum lane width of 3 m.

If you could get it out to ~21.5 m then it will become much easier, because then you could do 7 lanes side by side (remember you need enough space to put the track barricades). Then you'd be able to have much more interesting layouts that meet the minimum requirements.

Dan , the pic is a bit weak (like Jase) , but if you read the text in the link, it refers to the location being in Riverstone........
Being a construction site, the owners can't have excited racers turning up for look-see.

Pictures have been taken along the way , as a bit of a build log if you wish and all will be told in due course . I guess like any construction, they prefer to keep the completion date on the quiet, in case there are unforseen delays that could occur ?

Good things come to those who wait apparently, so lets all be patient racers, that wish to race inside.....

Nice job. I like the blue lines.. But not sure they will keep Jason on the right side of the track.

Cant wait to see the fin' producto. Will check it out for sure.

All the best for the new venue, hope it lives to a ripe old age with no freakin mega traction additive
