Default Broken FT Associated CVA

Anyone else had problems with braking CVA axles?

A brand new set installed into a SC10 truck, snapped on first use over one of the jumps at our local race meet.

I only replaced the std axles as i had the dog bones falling out more and more.
everyone said cva's were the go

On inspection the metal seems to have a lot of bubbles and is discoloured, white around the edge and grey in the middle.

Any one else has Associated problems?

Associated CV's come with two pins the wheel nut pins and solid pins which go in the housing then locked which ones did you use???

matt, my advice would be go back to the dogbones. lol

but seriously did you use the right pins,

when you say you snapped an axle. what part did you snap, show photos or ask us at the next meet.

if you snapped the pin inside the holds the axle to the outdrive section which goes in the rim, maybe you did the grub screw up too tight. Or you could have just had a bad piece.

Just get another set and try again..

or go back to dogbones. Honestly, the only time they go missing is when you pop a ball cup.

upgrade to rpm ball cups and dont constantly take them on and off. and you will be fine.

i havn't popped a ballcup in probably 6 months.

when they broke the had the solid pin, not the rolled pin. where it snapped was right on the pin hole, so the thinest point

i am now running 1 CVA and one dog bone. while your there on another note.
one of the guys on sat night running a sc10 RTR so same as mine, seemed super quick! he is running something like an 81/22p gearing. i am thinking of trying this for Sunday. the B44.1 has an 81 which i need to change out for a 75. worth a try.
