Heres my new Blitz mini shell. Shit paint job, but I wanted to test it tomorrow night.
BTW,
It is SWB body C30 Volvo. Comes complete with the small wing.
Later,
Calvin.

The lines are too smooth and it appears to be a purpose built body for Mini racing. It is not a scale body of actual car.
I would hate for Mini to end up like touring car where the bodies dont resemble that of 1:1 cars.
I like the old school mini bodies such as the Mini Cooper and to an extent, the BMW Mini etc. Some of the current bodies fit in quite well like the Swift, Honda Jazz etc.
Just my opinion

It was never designed as a race shell and I suspect that while it might be good at maybe the Velodrome, I'm not sure it'll work in normal racing.

Andrew, Dale Epp at Protoform/Proline is actually a personal friend of mine, and after talking to him a few weeks back, he told me that this shell is designed as a cruiser type shell. Something super-cool that incorporates styling elements from the 40's/50's but interpreted in a modern way.

I reckon that they will sell very well and every second car (if not more) on the Mini grid will be one of these.
Like I said before, I would hate for Mini to drift too far away from its roots ie a boxy Mini with the aerodynamics of a brick and modelled of a "real" car.

The body rules were written to allow/encourage as many body types as possible, so that we didn't end up with a field of aerodynamic Touring Car blobs. And it's worked very well from what I've seen.
The only shells that were deliberately excluded were the Touring Car ones, and/or 12th scale type shells.
I dont see the SoCal Wagon having any advantage at all over anything else, I'd be stunned if it turns out to be an issue.
