If your club is affiliated with AARCMCC and that is the governing body in WA then you are good to go - no worries.

Sorry Tac, but the free dates for race meetings are becoming rare as hens teeth. Everyone needs to get in early to set there calendar these days...

PS> Our date was decided early this year, but probably not advertised as well as it should have been.

Exclamation STOP PRESS!

Based on the results of the August ORRCA QLD Meeting, there is likely to be an addendum to the Entry Forms.

It looks like 540 Tourers will be supplyed with a motor to use for the event. (Handout Motor)
This motor must be used and will "impounded" between when racing finishes on Saturday and racing practise begins on Sunday.

There is likely to be a nominal fee to purchase this motor and you get to keep the motor after the event is over.

Due to the highly competative nature of this class, ORRCA QLD want it is to be seen as a step to stop the use of "freak" motors and the practise of "twisting".

The full details of this change will be finalised by the 23rd August

Stay tuned.....

Looks like a great move here by ORRCA. We used to always do this years ago for 540 Offroad Titles but then we never had the technology to be able to check the motors randomly during the day to see if tampering was occuring after handout - now we do it should level out the playing field a bit.

As for club level well - Logan have now announced that only an Evans sealed and tested motor can be used at that club in any 540 event. Same is set for the Interclub - it;s now up to the other clubs to make the same move. By the way you don't have to buy your motor from Steve Evans but if you buy it elsewhere he will check and seal it for you

For those of you who are not familar with our track, the layout is as below.

The track falls away down to the start of the back straight which is approximately one metre lower than the front straight. You start the climb after the banked corner at the end of the back straight, so the series of esses and hairpins in the "Monte Carlo" section are all uphill.

More pictures and information can be found on our web site www.brccc.org.au

Unfortunately for some unknown reason the computer counted the first lap (in mod only) as lap one and not nil, therefore we had to deduct one lap from everybody.

Incidently Anthony Atack broke the 18 lap barrier on Sunday!
