Sounds great but the cash winnings and parts isn't a good idea. As i know it rc clubs around australia don't really benefit from this.

Yes I agree, the cash and prizes is a bit of a gimick.

Keep it simple, make it so you want to come back with friendly customer service and product to sell and that itself I believe is a great formular.

Default Midweek Racing Emergency!!

There seems to be a void with midweek racing in Melbourne's north eastern suburbs at the moment. Not sure yet if Radical RC will continue as they are looking at relocating their business, so Houston we have a problem.

Apart from Boronia what options are there for midweek racing up around the north east side of Melbourne.............anybody got a clue?

If you want some good ideas for tracks and what to have to get people to come and keep coming, don't just wait for ideas from here, look at tracks around the world and facilities similar to what your aiming for , for better ideas .
I'm pretty sure there are some threads in electric on road section about track ideas and what not

I can't say I have had much experience with indoor facilities but the only time I got to run at the Sideways indoor track in Melbourne I had a ball. Sure, the track was smaller than most out door arenas but if it had not been for that facility our once a year vintage enduro would not have happened as it rained solidly and the outdoor track would have been more suited to boats on that weekend.

Saying this any indoor facility tailored to the racing community would have to be a good thing. It may be hard to please everyone (much like the Sideways track) but if people can just appreciate and support a facility like this the pro's definately outweigh the con's.

If a facility gets going Im sure the numbers will come regardless of how far people will have to travel. Hell, I would for special events.

We've been down this path before and I honestly don't think we have enough interest in Melbourne to support such a venue because if there was then we'd have the venue by now. At times there are a lot of emotional, "YES YES I'll be there!" and then it takes a massive belly flop . Not very encouraging if your a business owner who isn't just interested in those who just come to 'Special Events'. This might sound very negative but I think it's true in reality

Next subject anyone?

Indoor offroad? I just converted my truggy to electric and if there was an offroad track that would be great, im 2 hours south of melbourne as it is so i don't have many options without travelling.
