I run the Fantom Ion 17.5 in my Slash on 4s Lipo (yes 4s!) And it rips, doesn't get hot either geared 22/86. GPS'd at 75kph

Note though that this is hardly an "in warranty" set up.

Sigh this thread just made my motor choice a whole lot harder.... was looking at getting a Speed Passion V3 for offroad, now im not so sure. How do these DUO 2 17.5's go in offroad?

There has never been an easier decision to make. Either a DUO 1 or 2. They have been cleaning up in the USA and at last the word has made it to OZ. At the onroad nats DUO 2's took 1st, 2nd and TQ in 17.5 with daylight to anything else.

I think the DUO they are talking about is the Team Epic DUO, which is made by Trinity.

Trinity/Epic

There are also other companies that have their own versions like Fantom and Express motorsports.
They are the same motor though..

Nexus Racing in the US has the Duo 2. Take that back they did, its out of stock...

In Australia you have several choices,

Scotty Cameron at Mildura RC Centre has the Fantom DUO2 range,

Top Australia has the Express Motorsports DUO2 range

Ok done the shakedown runs with the sp v3.0 and I am very impressed. Quite quick and 15c cooler than my tekin redline. Therefore I can tune it up! I am taking it for some testing @ knox tomorrow
