2009 MassiveMods Australian Truggy @ Monster Truck Nats
#16
Event is 6 to 9th Aug 2009
Thurs Practice + Quals
Friday Quals
Sat Quals
Sun Semis and Finals
The Entry form looks awesome by the way !
I ran Bowties and crimefighters in buggy last year and found the crimefighter to be the better of the two. Havent had any experience with many of the other brands avail.
Every year weve run this event its been awesome. The club has a great attitude and racing is really competitive , the track layout is fast and challenging.
We will be running the sausage sizzle for the club too so plenty of good food from Master Chef Murv.
And as usual we will be helping people with tuning , so any newbs that are not quite sure please don't hesitate to approach any of the MM / RC Hobby Zone drivers for assistance.
Also People who want the Blue Dot MM Fuel please email me so i can get it down there in time.
[email protected] or just order from the site and we will nominate the address to our plant in Adelaide for delivery.
Cheers MM

Do we have to nominate on slyfox for this event as well as fill out the entry form ?
If so, nominations are open for the ACT states that are in September,
but are not there for truggy nationals wich actually come around before then !

OK guy's.
As I said, this is my first interstate race (flying).
I have since found out that gell cells on the plane are a no no .
The problem is that I have one of those big Q world box's and it ONLY uses a 12v gell cell battery.
What I want advice on is;
-Should I frieght a gell cell over there with my fuel, and pick it up ?
-Should I just buy one there from a local HS ?
-Just take a chance and take it and hope I don't get pulled up ?
-Or, I think the best option, to possibly borrow one for the 4 days if a local guy has a spare 12v gell cell ? (that is still ok of course).
I'm also going to have to buy some metho and simple green locally for cleanup for the return flight.
Any advice is apreciated,
Flanno.

If the gel cell is just for the starter box, have you looked at buying a couple of stick packs to run your starter? And the 12V on the rental car does a good enough job for running chargers. I'd avoid shipping gear in advance if I could- just a bit more hassle and expense.
Don't stress too much about flying with car gear. Use a bit of common sense with regard to hazardous stuff (ie: don't pack fuels or aerosols, etc.) and make sure you're under the excess baggage limit.
There's no Slyfox nomination for this event- we will be running our own timing system (Alycat) as per previous State Title events. Confirmed entry lists will be periodically updated on the forums and www.sdmcc.asn.au website.

Thanks Ringo, but my style box is not able to have stick packs as an option, it doesn't come with the optional wiring and also no room as the motor is huge.
It does however come with extra wires to run out side the box with aligator clips if someone has a car battery handy.
I'm going with someone else and not sure about a hire car !

Flanno,
Was in the same boat your in a while ago. You can Purchase a 12v gel cell at dick smith for half the price of sending it i think from memory it was $28.00 or something like that. As for the truggy after the meet when we came back from adelaide we just pulled the engine out i pulled the fuel lines off and drained every thing out of the tank and threw it in no problems what so eva now i have the lipo in the starter box so its lighter and neva have to worry about the larger heavier gel cell... I also purchased a hard shell suit case which made rc car transportation a dream....
Best thing i eva did they are pricey but well worth the coin....

Thanks guy's for all your input, it is muchly apreciated.
I'm pretty much sorted on how to prep everything etc so it all looks new, nothing electrical connected and so on.
Fuel won't be a problem.
A member of my track has offered his mugen box that has stick packs in it, so that is now all sorted also.
I'm excited to be going and can't wait to meet everybody, tho it may take a while for me to remember everybodies names, I'm hopeless that way, so be patiante with me.
I now just need to find out my AARCMCC member number for the entry form, then I'm set to go !
Cheers
