spybot adaware, plus look at cnet .com for downloads, sounds like you've got spyware not a virus
cnet is a virus free site

Try clearing the cache (in tools->options (firefox)) and then reloading the browser.

If I were you I'd also check to see if your provider is one of the ones participating in the Government's trial for blocking disreputable sites.

Try: www.ubuntu.com

Fdisk will cure all of your ills.

How are you accessing Google and YouTube?

Are you clicking on links in your favourites to access these sites?

If so, the links may be corrupted! Try manually typing the address directly into the address bar. Other than that, i would save all your important files to CD's and re-install windows.

Cheers, Brett.

Open this file in Notepad:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (the filename is "hosts" without any extension).

After the hashed comments section will be a list of IP addresses mapped to domain names.

There should only be a single entry:

127.0.0.1 localhost

Delete any additional entries you don't recognise.

Then go to Start > Run. In the Open box, enter "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotation marks.
