Aren't Trinity just like Ferrari ,ban it or boycott it.

Once they have it (the technology) they will love it.

The only brushless I have had the chance to try so far is the novak model ,which is used in a TC3 ,and a B4.

The novak in no way could keep pace with 7 turn brushed motors, but it also doesn't need a rebuild after 6 mins of runtime.

Although the new orion motors look to be a leap in the right direction ,its most likely to little to late.

And brushless in racing on and off road would be better as racing could be closer ,the problem with rc racing in Australia is that the bar has been lifted by a few in a way that the newcomers ,and budget racers alike are by no way competitive, but the main thing is the level and quality of racing has gone out the window.
On road in Sydney may be different ,but I bet its still all keeping up with the jones'.

Maybe if the powers that be want this sport (as the word hobby is no longer valid) to re gain its former glory of years past ,they would allow brushless in off road as well as on,so people could work on driving there cars not worrying about the new bits they have to buy ,just so someone will talk to them..

At the end of the day its RC racing ,not real racing, and in no way are they the same.
Stop throwing money at it and race!!!

these twister 55's rated at 5,500 RPM/Volt, just under the Novak which is rated at 5,800 RPM/Volt, from this could we assume that the Twister 55 is an equal or slower motor?

see the summernats thread - aust day long weekend...

bk... ive sent and extensive list (not exhaustive - about 4 different series of motors and about 8 different brands) to fof... maybe it will get around to clubs to add the mythical bl rule...

whatever the case some manufactures are suggesting fdr's of 3 and 4 to one in touring cars... apparently their escs are happy with the 70-80a the motors will draw

maybe we are looking at the wrong numbers when making judgements about bl the k/v number looks good but perhaps the current capacity of the esc is where the real test for a motor... after all you were getting respectable speed out of the novak before the envelope was pushed too far

and perhaps thats the biggest problem with miniaturisation they cant handle the current (and subsequent heat)

hands up all those who seriously believe they could weld with their brushed esc, as that is in essence what a lot of manufacturers claim with their numbers

Per the Summaernats sub regs BL Allowed, the Summernats and rubbernats are not an ARCMACCA's affiliated race meeting, so a few of the rules will be dreamt up by the promoters.

come on Besercoe the rules are not just "dreamt" up, they based on feedback from racers. A big race allowing BL must make u happy.

Wow contact you must have a lot of brushless systems to have tryed them all. As for them to be put on the approved motor list it needs to have be tested and approved.

i.e. the approved list at the monent is only the Novak and the Hacker systems.

And don't worry the summer Nats will have brushless allowed as to almost all races these days.

Coxy.

they all have been used or are designed for use in r/c cars

you dont have to eat a shit to know you dont like it the same it true in reverse for these motors "we" are not the worlds only exponents of bl tech ... and its rare for "us " to wait for a product to be tested before using it anyway - i notice everyone holds off buing the latest cells, chassis, radio and the list goes on when they are released

what are you afraid of by restricting the list?
