Smile 2wd grip

As a general annoucement, I will choose the track (from 3, out of a hat) next Friday and will post it here and on SMAsite then. Saturday the track will be sugar watered properly and there will be great grip for all. Practice is from 11.30 am till 5pm Saturday and 8am - 9.30 Sunday. Oh year, remember the finals will be 7 mins for all except 12th scale, which will run 10 mins. Qualifying will be normal, 5 & 8.

I can not wait, my S120 is awesome and the F103 on rubber is beaut too, now if I can drive better than I have for the last few years, I'll be a winner

Was interested until the "sugar water" was mentioned. No fun with Mini

craig ,i dont think we need to use sugar water ,as u know the grip is fine as long as the track is cleaned properly .i scrubed a few corners with water this afternoon then ran my 18th again and it was awesome. i would not sugar water the track any more period. ive run nitro, 12 scale f1o3 ,mini all with foams and the grip is fine .it just needs a good wash.your thoughts?/

It definitely helped with the 12th scale, but I got better results from treating the tyres. Now if I could just find some ground effects

hey Ray, looking forward to this one as I am bringing out a new 12th scale. what is the idea behind 10 min 12th finals? Are you trying to slow the cars down and get a longer final - I need to work out a motor /battery combination that can go for 10 min. Not sure low wind brushless will go 10 min

What are you running usually out at SMA and what changes will you make for 10 min final?

As the grip will not be like normall 12th scale, ie heaps, it will be hard to dump in 8 mins. If you run 10.5 class I think you will be more than OK. In Thailand the track was real sticky. We will not have that much grip, just a good amount, I'm slightly diluting the mix.
The idea was simply to enjoy longer races.

I'm interested, however need to see if I can get a leave pass. Another gooped track. Just what I need after the inconsistancies with mini at Windsor.

BTW

I read your rules on the web site and they say that the 13T BL system is not the standard mini class. Is this correct? I take it tyres are still rubber for normal mini.

Oh well, hope to see ya's Sunday.

Regards,

Calvin.

Mad Mini ... CC rules? including only the 3000kv motor or is the 3300kv allowed as well?

Ray,

I see what you just posted regarding the two mini classes. However in the first post to this thread it states that mad mini is the 3300 Kv motor which is not the approved 3000kv 13T BL motor.

The way it is written is that normal mini is to Club Challenge rules which I believed were this years.

Which is correct?

Thank you

Calvin.

Mini rules will be as the first post in this thread

Club Mini: CC09 rules
Mad Mini: 3300kv and 1250g weight limit

Less than a week to go and this event is shaping up to be a whole lot of fun. Hopefully the sun will be shining and the temps hot to really get those tyres working. Now if I could just get the layout out of Mr Wood for some early practice I might be in with a shot
