Unfortunately, after nearly 10 years, Hobbywing have discontinued our beloved 13T EZRUN (B2) ESC/MOTOR Combo. We really can't complain as 9 years is an astonishing run for anything in the RC world these days. And many (in fact MOST) of the systems are still in perfect working order even now. Certainly our initial systems are still going strong.
Stocks of the B2 system are now at a point where they are very, very difficult to find and because of this situation we have brought forward the announcement of the new system which we had initially planned for next Jan.
After extensive testing (dyno and on-track) we are happy to announce that the replacement system (after evaluating quite a few and from more than one manufacturer) for Mini Racing in Vic (other states can choose to follow or make their own assessments) is..
HOBBYWING MAX 10 COMBO 3300Kv. EZRUN.
ESC - MAX 10 EZRUN 3652 SL - 30102602
MOTOR - 3652 SL 3300Kv - 30402600
Our testing has shown that these is very little difference between these and the old B2 systems. Pretty much no more than the difference you would find between a random sample of say, half a dozen B2 systems. They are also 100% waterproof and have an inbuilt temp sensor which means its almost impossible to fry a motor.
They do NOT have punch or timing options like the B2 did, and there is no program card included in the combo (although your old ones will work)
We are confident these are the absolute right choice going forward, and there is NO NEED to rush out and buy one. Your current B2 system will still be more than competitive.
Pricing is slightly higher but they can be found around $140 AUD which is more than reasonable.
These are legal for racing as of today June 17.

Interesting in racing minis coming from racing offroad.

I see Boronia in Melbourne races them.

Really have no idea what to look for. M03 or M05? What would be best to buy and where in Melbourne to get one from.

May be better to hang off and get an M07, it's a superior car.
That said, there will be large numbers of M05 VII's (thats the one to get currently, and it will take the square Lipos from your buggys) on sale straight after the Bendigo Classic on Oct 14/15 if you just want to dip your toe in the water without buying new.

Metro Hobbies in Box Hill I think have some Mini kits in stock, best to give them a call.

In regards to motor/ESC, Boronia isn't allowing the latest black Hobbywing ESC/Motor combo for this year, however there are some committee members who will allow you to borrow their spare blue Hobbywing combos for the rest of the year.

They've only got basic kits, don't have the R or even the Pro.

I've seen a few M06 bodies around, do these fit a M05 chassis?

Anyone ever seen a Ford Escort MK|| body?

You need to be more specific, but as a rule most m-chassis bodies will fit a variety of chassis. You also need to note that m-chassis' come in 210,225 and 240mm w/base
KAMTEC in the UK make a Mk 1 Escort but it looks like sh*t.

What would be the best brushed ESC for M-Chassis,sport tuned motor setup.
Looking for a Ton of AMPS.I noticed that the old Novak Cyclones have 480amps continuous current.

Umm, you don't need an esc that does a ton of amps. A Sport-Tuned motor would be lucky to pull any more than 25 amps max.
