What surface are you running on?

You may also want to post what tyres you are currently using?

When you say original, do you mean the ones which originally came with the kit? As those tyres most likely wont be suitable for a 3.5. They'll get torn up pretty quick.

Also when you say split are you talking about down the middle on the centerline or on the inside edge of the tyre?

Some of these ppl in hobby shops should really provide better advice on what gear to buy if this guy's got a 3.5 on a rtr or similar.

If your just bashing then hard foams would be the way to go (45's or so).
If your racing then sorex 36's would be the way to go.

At the moment we're just racing in a carpark - So tarmac is the surface

We normally race around 9:30/10pm Friday Nights.. If that gives you an indication on track temps.

And to answer the last question.. They split on the inside edge of the tire..

Inside edge would suggest you are running too much negative camber, which will cause you problems no matter what tire you run.

Go foam they will grip good on a car park and won't come fall apart

Not all the time. It could be that the tire and insert shifts to the outer side of the rim and the rim wears through the rubber

Although running too much camber can increase the rate of wear on the inside edge that is where tyres will wear anyway on a properly setup car.

With a 3.5 and rough asphalt you are not really going to get a lot of tyre life. To me i suspect that car park bashing would result in greater tyre wear because you are more likely to drive with the massive amount of power you have at your disposal.

Actually reading that are you racing a track or just bashing? And did you able to tell us what you are currently using?

Well 1st tip is stay away from foams unless there is cleaning of your surface and there is plenty of traffic.

Try setting you camber to between -1 and -1.5 degrees. You can do this by using a right angle triangle and place it against your tyre with you car ready to run without the body. Adjust your upper arm so there is approx 1mm gap between the top of the right angle triangle and the top of the tyre.

As stated above you are running a lot of motor and I wouldn't expect much life out of your tyres.

Cheers.
