Default 10.5t Brushless gearing and timing setups?

Just a question to all that are running 10.5t BL motors.. Im currently running a Orion Vortec motor and have got it out of the box and the timing is advanced way off the charts. Its geared at around 4.9:1 on a flowing track and on a normal 25degree day it reaches about 80deg and can barely touch it longer than a second.
Has anyone found this with their motors?
Has the timing been fully advanced out of the box?

Thanks for any help on this topic.

The normal gear ratio for a 10.5b/l motor is 5.5:1 so you are already geared lower than recommended, which is why your temps are about 10deg celcius higher than normal running temps.

How is your top speed compared to others on the track?

How are your lap times compared to others on the track?

Little Hampton in Adelaide is a fairly flowing track and most of us are lower than 5;1 ratio. there are some guys runnin a nosram 10.5 andare geared at approx 5.4:1 and we have the same speed down the strait and thru corners.
So i think not all 10.5 will be the same.

As for lap times, its up there at the front, not the quickest but that will come down to whos the better driver and car setup too.

My main concern is the timing that it comes standard as. Has anyone found them to be advanced to the max?

I race with mcskoda and all our cars are oround the same pace. My speed passion 10.5 is running at a fdr of 4.2 on the same track, at it comes off at 45degrees celcius. All motors are different.

mcskoda is asking has anyone brought an orion 10.5 and is the timing normal or way off the charts.
