Default 2008 Templestowe Metro Masters (vic)

The Best Track in Australia will be hosting the most prestige's event in the calender, The Templestowe Masters now with a new naming rights sponsor, Metro Hobbies Box Hill

If you havn't already heard, Templestowe has recently been resurfaced and it is currently the grippyest most enjoyable track, with Perfect concrete curbs. The track will be at a similar standard at the one in Thailand (RCS) which is hosting the Worlds.

Entry form is waiting approval, keep posted

For more information contact karnig@optusnet.com.au or visit our website http://www.tftr.org.au

yeas,

check out http://www.tftr.org.au click the photo's tab and then click photo galleries

The track is still being built, eg. concrete curbs and paint,
we currently have 5 concrete corners and three of them are painted, will be ready and fresh for the Metro Masters garanteed

Kirby - I think you can't count. It's 4 kerbs painted, 5 kerbs built silly!! :-P

I went down after watching Alonso win another F1 GP yesterday afternoon for a run and I saw the new kirbing with the paintwork. The job these guys are doing is quite outstanding. This kerbing is done ala RCS (TITC & Worlds 08) and the paint job is great too.

It really is a thing of beauty driving around TFTR - my love affair with the place has to stop someday, but for the moment it'll have to stay.

Interesting - is that TRUE grip or artificial additive style grip?

TFTR is definately TRUE grip - you can use any old tyres down to the canvas and have stacks of grip! I went for a run or two after work today and I ran some tyres that were ancient - and the front left tyre had a tear on the inside bead, half way around the wheel practically, and it was very fast still.

Then again, maybe its the car.

Its very good! You guys are lucky to have the same type of surface down there at TFTR. I still have the lines on my front tyres after 2 runs (and wins so yes it was fast) in the A finals in mod. Lap times were the same 2nd run too there was so muh grip. And the treatment? Blown off with a garden blower at the start of each day.

Your event will be great if you track is anything like this.

That's really good - great in fact. Anything to grow the hobby is the best, and so far with TFTR the way it is we've seen quite a lot more enthusiasm about racing too. If NSW and VIC both have at least 1 great track (QLD definately have a couple of good tracks too), hopefully we'll see the numbers increase across the board.
