Default 2008 Keilor Cup 9th Nov

The 2008 Keilor Cup will be held on the 9th November in Keilor, Melbourne. This will be the 5th round of the ORRCA Vic drivers series.

Entry form attached. Any questions, PM me or email me using the address on the form.

Following some comments about the track rebuild there have been some further changes made. The long front straight is back, it is less point and shoot and the direction has been reversed... 1st club race on this layout will be this Sunday (the 12th).

Ill post the entry list as I receive them.

See you there!!

Ray

Here are some photos of the latest track layout (taken yesterday) - for those who havent race on it, we are running anti-clockwise down the full length of the front straight. There is still a bit of tidying up to do but it is a fun layout.

Clubbie this Sunday for those who want some last minute race practice!

I'm not so sure truggy is an ORRCA Vic class.

It's a lot more fun and flowing than it was after the first rebuild. The last section in particular (over the tabletop, through the valley and onto the straight) is really good fun in this direction.

The grip has come up too - I was pulling stands down the straight yesterday. Might be time to try out the JConcepts Bar Codes

There are still a couple of bits that need work but they will be attended to before the 9th.

Seeya there!!

Yeah last time i was there the surface was a bit soft. Not really much you can do with the water restrictions and all that. Are you running 4wd mod this weekend ray?

The surface seems to be best when it has had a bit of rain and then some heat. We are applying for a construction water permit for the event so that should help. The track surface was very high grip at the nats, but a bit abrasive - I recommend Losi Red X-2000s or Panthers if it is hot. Holeshots work well if it is cool but wear very quickly if it is warm. Pro-Line Inside Jobs are also good. if there is no dust, I reckon we will be able to run black groove tyres like Bar Codes, Taper Pins and BK Bars!

Im not 100% sure if i will run on Sunday (maybe only a couple of runs - I have a family birthday at 1pm). Ill probably run the 2wd.

From what I saw on the Knox forum, this one is an electric 4wd monster truck - so it should be OK as long as he doesnt try to drive over everyone!!!

Default Keilor Cup Entries

Hey guys,

as of today we only have a handful of entries. I know there are a lot of you who plan on racing!!!

If you do plan on racing, can you please get your entries in to me asap - entries close on the 3rd November (late fees will apply after then). The earlier we know entry numbers, the better we can plan the bbq and drink situation.

A reminder that you need to be a member of an ORRCA Vic club to race in these events. Ive attached a Keilor club membership form to this post as well as the event entry form.

update:
We've received a ton of cool raffle prizes for the event thanks to our sponsors:
- heaps of B4/B44 parts from Early Model Kits and Hobbies www.earlymodelkits.com.au
- some awesome die-cast models from Andrews Hobbies www.andrewshobbies.com.au
- $200 USD worth of vouchers from www.rc-mushroom.com

Seeya

Yeah that truggy is pretty big. They didnt seem to have a problem with it @ knox though. But then again the 540 guys are pretty easy going.
