I'll be handing in my entry form this Sunday at the Coleman Cup (proudly sponsored by The Hobbyman).

I'll round up the forms from the following parties:

Paul and Troy
Davin and George
Matteo and ????

Super secret weapon project is ongoing - revealed some of the handiwork to Ant last Saturday - was hopefully impressed.

Unless commitment is made, there are only promises and hopes; but no plans...

Sweet yeah there are quite a few 2nd hand originals on the market. That being said u dont know the condition and getting new replacement parts in time may be hard so i think I will go for the newie

I understand that 540/540j are the allowed motors, what else can be non spec? esc/tyres/shocks? Is it nimh only?

Oh and one other thing I have heard that ant is the vintage man @ knox. Is there any chance we may have a regular category on club days? Is there enough interest?

hi Lookie
Go a new one as I understand it will be 99% like the old one,My hopper is a re-release and I think it is 100% the same kit,it even has "Tamiyia corp 1984" stamped into the mould.
As for getting a Frog, they are very good and that would be my next choice,I think last year a frog came 2nd !!!
Go and get yourself a kit and join in !!!

The RR Frog has diferent decals and dog bone drive shafts instead of the old hex drive ones, they also dont come with the old trusty 3 steep mechanical speed control.

Hi Lookie

Basically, Tyres, wheels shocks and electrics/electronics are open. Lipo is fine, so long as it's a ROAR approved hardcase. You may just want to check fit before you commit to buying a trackpower for your frog for example.

I will be using torch batteries for this event, simply because I have ample lying around.

As for regular racing, I quite often slot a vintage into the 540 class for a run, but it's not usually a regular thing, just because of numbers and logistics. Im always keen, as are the "Hard Tail Boys" (they know who they are............)

Apologies for the website being down, we are moving premises, and so the non critical servers are offline for now. Will be back up by weeks end, where you can find a copy of the vintage rules at www.knoxoffroadelectric.org/info

Cheers

Gino and I are all paid up!

The little that is completed, vanishes from the sight of one who looks forward to what is still to do...

Yeah I am gonna chat to a couple of the new guys on the weekend to see if I can get a team together. Being that the race is on the 30th nov it will give me lots of time to source car/spares etc. On the subject of frogs etc, does anyone remember what parts are the most vulnerable so I have adequate spares? I am looking at getting a rr car and a 2nd hand original to use for spares. I assume that the all the parts on the old car are interchangeable with the rr? Thanks guys

Yeah still lookin @ cars to run for this, was lookin at runnin a frog but I am also looking at getting a kyosho ultima or optima. Does anyone know of any decent online shops that specialise in parts for these cars as most are pretty scarce except for the odd bit here and there on ebay. I have found repro shock towers but they are in carbon fibre and I aint to keen on that after recent experiences...lol. I know the frog is a rr but there are still bugger all parts available. Any help would be much appreciated.

Dunno if the frog could break anything really bad ? My hopper is made from that soft plastic...so unless it had a hard hit it should be ok !
Who out there has had Frog stress !!Does the frog ever wear outI know the hopper just keeps on ..even when I throw it in the bin ....it bounce back in my hands

I am also lookin @ an ultima. The main reason why I was lookin @ a frog in the 1st place is it is the easiest to get. But I would like to get something I could also run @ regular meets on occasion instead of my zx-5. It's kind of a waste just to get a car to run vintage as there isnt many events and I think an ultima or even an rc10 would be more competitive in say 2wd stock than a frog. I am amazed @ how few of these cars are available in australia as they were around in rc's heyday so i just thought there would be a lot more available.

I have received entry forms and money from Paul & Troy and George & Davin.

Will give them to Ant on Sunday!

Analyzing humor is like dissecting a frog. Few people are interested and the frog dies of it...
