I actually wouldn't beleive anything that the CDC says. It just seems to be WAY WAY off compared to other chargers. I have BRAND NEW Reedy X-Cell team packs and they recorded only a bit better then 414m11's numbers. I'll compare results from CDC to a Victor charger soon.

well... it doesnt matter what you compare them too,,, thats like compariong label numbers with trinity packs and fantom..
As long as you do all your packs on the same charger.. "its called a base line"
from what i have sean all eagle charger,, "as long as they are the same model, are quite consistent...
the cdc version 5 has atleast .6 volt higher than version 6 numbers

How come when you charge batteries @ 5 amps, 5m/v cutoff from discharged and cold it still gets quite hot at the end??
The battery bars are untouchable they are so hot...
and they smell like burning just a little bit...
? is it just the cdc or shouldn't you charge the whole pack without breaks or something?

what do you mean "without breaks"
if its getting to hot it means your pack may be faulty..as they should be nice and warm.
check all the cells with a multi meter if one of them reads signifently lower" volts" than the others it could be leading the pack to get hot because of its resistance.

I would say signifently different. i have seen cells with 3v + on a multimeter!!!! (they were $%&*ed of course).
Wait till you get your new cells that aren't fried and try the charging as suggest then. your old dead pack will only tell you that everything is no good cause it ain't interested in working anymore.

ok I will check it soon.
Is there any way to match unmatched cells yourself? i am ordering 30 cells to make 5 packs so can i test each one to make an ultimate pack for my final or something?
If i were to try and match them myself what figures would i look at? voltage? runtime? internal resistance? average voltage? how hot it gets?
should i equalise the unmatched pack before using it?
thanks for your help

dont bother just build 5 packs and run them charge the pack up then bring it back down to 5.4 and equalise the pack then they should be ready to go i mean even if the lowest gp cells now days reach 1.14 volts (series 2). so your pretty assured of getting a decent pack no matter what

but will it be better to have one very good pack?
so you equalise after you discharge a pack?
so you equalise after you discharge a pack?

yes if u want to equalise it would be after discharging down to 5.4 on a real time 2 discharger tray i thnk their around 5 amp but integy make a 20 amp discharge and equalising tray that you could use for full packs.
im not saying u cant u cant use a real time for a whole pack it would just take longer.

okies,
It so as soon as i get my cells what do i do?
should i charge them individually then solder them or solder them and then charge as a pack?
