3.7.5 Dimensions
**Roof Height - see below for method of measurement 110
**Wing Height - see below for method of measurement 110
** Roof and wing height are to be measured with the chassis on a flat raised surface so the suspension is not supporting the car (suggested 10mm). A 110mm gauge in height is to be used for measurement from the raised surface to the roof/wing for height. The roof must exceed the 110mm gauge, while the wing must not touch the 110mm gauge at any point.
**Roof cannot be modified in any way to gain extra height. Wing height should be checked prior to each race, in case of damage during racing.
This one is a work of genius, when combined with another section stating the body must not be cut higher than the outline.
Where in reality in order to achieve a 20mm high wing below 110, you need to hack off about 5mm of the lower skirt. Which then causes the front wheels to hit the bonnet under compression.

Thanks TJ. I'm not SMA committee member and there was no racing due to bad weather on Tuesday so I have no idea what's been sent to our club.
My comment was not behalf of club, just my personal opinion.
I know HI and with Michael sick it would make it hard to see what we are talking about and seeing you are one that was interested in 12th scale. I just didn't know how you could find out, if it got down to it I would send you a copy but I thought it should come through your commitee first.

If you bothered to read it properly, you would realise that you are wrong.
Old method (basically) was 115mm from ground level to roof.
New method is 110mm from base of chassis to roof. The rule suggests to sit the car on a 10mm block which effectively means the roof has to be 120mm (110 + 10) when scrutineered. Easy Ride height is no longer a factor in roof height. But if you were to add the usual ride height of 5mm to this updated rule of 110mm and scrutineering method you would get 115mm from ground level to roof anyway...
Funny thing is this is actually how the cars have been scrutineered at the last few big events I have been to...
The big improvement with this rule is that it actually TELLS you HOW to scrutineer the car to ensure it meets the rule.

Some points that people may not know:
1. BRCA's testing process if more comprehensive / stricter than ROAR
2. BRCA does all of the testing for EFRA
So BRCA / EFRA lists should be treated just like the ROAR list. They are not inferior.
There is a document posted on the AARCMC web site, which may or may not be the one being referred to...
Hi PDR,
Can you tell me if there is a similar amendment document on the website for the Electric General Rules. I'd like to have a look to see what (if any) aspects of the rules the MORCC submitted have been retained. I spent a good deal of time carefully working out those amendments over the course of more than a year, so I'm keen (if that is the right word) to see what has become of them.
I would go through my committee but as Mr Ellis claims we aren't affiliated with the Electric section and (to my knowledge) nobody has responded to our emails/posts to help sort out the matter, I doubt they have been kept informed.
p.s. If there is anyone from AARCMCC who would like to help resolve the issue please contact John Carrol (MORCC president) or send me a PM and I'll give you his email address.

Not that I'm aware of. I came across that document by just trawling around.
Does thre EU,US or UK Bodies have a similar rule as what has been circulated in the discussion points (or that we have been racing to for the past year or so?
One of the guys I race with (and I agree) feels that provided the body is cut to the manufacture lines then it is legal.
The DUO 2 spec motors (17.5, 13.5 & 10.5) were all approved on the ROAR list in June this year.
I have cross referenced the part numbers and they are correct to the Epic DUO2. On the ROAR list they are not shown under Trinity and are actually shown as Team Epic.
I have put all of the relevant approval dates and numbers on the Nationals thread of the DUO, Pulse & DUO2. The only DUO2 that are not on there are the Modified range of the motor.
Hope this helps mate,
Cheers,
James

Thanks James, yeah I saw your post but I thought you only meant the 17.5 was approved. Good man.
I assume the express versions would need to be approved on their own if they are "tuned"
No, it doesn't matter as long as the core motor has been approved and the rotor is as per spec.
