Default 2008 Vintage Race Meeting at Ryde, NSW

For all those with Vintage kits

Entries are now open for th 2008 Anniversary Vintage Meeting on Sunday, 22 June at Blenheim Park, Blenheim Road, North Ryde. Download your entry form, there is only 5 weeks until we display to the public how we used to race back in the olden days.

For those not sure if there is a class for you, please enter and we will slot you into a class that should be suitable - we are not going to reject entries, we want to display the cars and have some good old fashioned racing.

There will be a time when im going to head to Mitchell park for a run, but im not sure when yet.

2 things: there are no mains power supplies down there for charging (will use 12v car battery), and the track is more or less tarmac, which may not quite be kind on tires
(would be awesome to have a real dirt offroad circuit...)

I will keep people posted here as to when or what will happen.
Cheers all

PS: Did the Mitchell park lads have an indoor onroad venue, and if they did, was it any good?

Actually the mitchell park track was oiled in around 2004.... and has just baked hard...

Default off road dirt track

I Remeber racing at penfield park at the old off road buggy track which now has a power substation built on it.

However they still have meets out there last sunday of each month where they have rc boats 1/5 nitro speedway cars, model train rides for the kids.

Maybee you could organise something with them as to having a meet on the dirt?

I would be there with my Supper hornet and maybee even a Rally TA03 but wont be any good for the F1.

apart from that i am sure we could arrange a track out in the north here some where.

cheers

Daza

I don't want to come across negative, but I certainly wouldn't hold your breath. Looking at the post history, it seems like this idea has fizzed!!

Default Vintage "Days" at Mitchell Park

OK, hows this for bringing a thread back from the dead!

I'm in the process of moving from Cairns to Adelaide and would love to get something happening down there (a bit like Boondal in BrisVegas).

I know a few guys on TamiyaClub would possibly be interested aswell.

Lets seriously try and organise something for all guys running vintage (and Re-Re) cars at Mitchell Park. I realise the track aint perfect, but it would do for a while, and possibly with a bit of work could become awesome. I personally am working on a few cars, and would end up with 7 - 8 cars (plus those on my wish list ) that i'd like to get out.

Any other interest?

Count me in!!

I have been chatting with mtbkym01 on TamiyaClub and we're keen on getting some Vintage action happening in Adelaide.

As already mentioned, there is a bit of interest on TC, so if we can get a few more people onboard from R/C Tech, it will be all the better!

Thanks Mark

It's good too know there are a few (lots) vintage cars around down there. I hope to relocate from Cairns very soon, so will definately come to the parks to check out AERCCC. I know my mate Vintage Frog was involved there for a bit, and I know he has a few cars

I remember running a State title event down at the Parks in the '80's, and of course the Nats at Wayville indoors aswell.

Really looking forward to getting back down there amongst the RC scene again

Cheers
Kym
