I thought you quit Dan? or did you just quit nitro (boo, hiss)?

I'll be running mod aka the class of '08 can you use traction additive on the control tyres?

I'm getting too lazy in my old-er age, the strip down & cleaning of gas cars put me right off, don't get me wrong, I love racing for 1/2 an hour with a machine that is constant pure power, but the flip side put me off. With electric tourer's it's the same (Bring back 10th pan car racing) so 1/12th scale it is, simple & fast + 8min racing

yep 12th is the ultimate in low maintenance, and I've gotta say electric tourer is a lot less effort than nitro - though I am currently filing superglue off my fingers

We've got some pretty quick guys 12th scale guys at SMA so it should be an awesome class at much more. The new track will kick nuts too, I had a trial run on the latest proposed design the other day and it was awesome. Check out the SMA thread (1 page back I think) for pics and some possible options for routes through the islands

I just figured a control tyre would mean no additive, or at least control additive. Are you making the trip north for this Simon?

Default 2008 MuchMore Masters

This event is getting closer, so its time for some updates:
  • The new track! This years MuchMore Masters will be the official debut event for the new SMA track. Work on the new track has commenced, the new track will surely be one of the best tracks around.
    • More than 50% increase in track area
    • New larger, and taller driver stand
    • New racing surface
    • Multi track layout, 15 layout options
    • Click here for the layouts: New track , Multi track options
  • As a result of the new track, 1/12th is expected to pick up in numbers with the new track layout and increased grip 12th scale action should be impressive.
  • Due to rain last year's meeting results were called on qualifying, the winners were:
    • Mini: Hiroshi Ishizaki
    • 1/12th Scale: David Warner
    • Touring Car 540: Jeff Thompson
    • Touring Car Stock: Luc Botton
    • Touring Car 19t: Luc Botton
    • Touring Car Modified: Ari Bakla
  • Date: May 24/25th, 2008

Hey Thomas, why don’t you get your self a mini and run that. You might have a chance this year since I’m not defending title this year instead I’ll be running 12th scale.

yeah i was thinking of that infact. can you PM me the essential things required to get the mini up to spec? are you guys running the old TCS rules or can we install some bling? if you could PM me some of the speed secrets like the tyre inserts used/build methods, diff settings and engine prep?

if i did tourer i'd only do the bludge class, 540, at most stock...but i can't be buggered cutting coms, and i haven't got a speedy at all.

Im looking forward to this event. Another oppurtunity to continue my 2008 qualifying domination over the one they call BLACK KNIGHT. Will my 100% record remain in tact?.............I cannot see it being otherwise.

There is no such thing like go-fast secrets in mini. Just got find right spring/tyre set up and stick 4200mah battery and drive smooth. Since SMA is getting resurface nobody knows what spring/tyre/inserts going to work.
Rules will be same as 08 Challenge cup plus Exige Brushless system but you need to check with Race organizer.
As for hop-ups just get oil shock, uni and bearing set.

The allowing of the Exige Motor system is a great step forward. But just a small question. There has been a fair bit of unreliability with the ESC in the system. At Windsor there has been a large number of ESC failures. Some drivers have changed their Minis to other brand ESC's but still using the motor with no increase in performance except reliability. Would this be allowed at the event?

I assume that Mini would be a maximum 20t pinion. I tried to get to the rules but it seemed unavailable at the time
