Default 3pm ? wot is throttle ATL

just wondering what the throttle ATL is? is it like a throttle curve setting? any input would be great. im am looking for a good middle of the range radio and the 3pm looks good but i would like a programable thottle curve as well

throttle ATL is short for Adjustable Throttle Limiter and it works by adjusting the total travel available to the braking side of the servo of the throttle servo.

so its not for electric, but i may be wrong.

who here uses a custom throttle curve for racing?

I use a little negative exponential on the throttle to help tame the car down on power out of slow corners. I have a 3pm and haven't touched the ATL.

ATL is an electronic adjustment of how much the throttle moves when the trigger is pushed forward ie. it is in effect a dual rate setting that only works on the brake side of the throttle. On the 3PM it is linked to one of the adjuster switches so it can be adjusted on the fly, like steering dual rates.

What you're looking for is called throttle exponential, which the 3PM has. It is not programmable but you'll probably find that it will be enough for you. On the 3PM both brake and throttle exponential can be adjusted independently. You'd have to go to a 3PK to get programmable throttle curves.

I use a 3PM myself and recommend it to you as a good mid range radio with all the features you need. I run electric touring car and 2WD buggy and it's more than enough without being overly complicated. I've had mine for 2 1/2 years and have no plans to replace it. With everybody else going to spread spectrum, my decision to stick with a crystal radio is paying off as I never have to change frequencies.

I've got the 3PM-fasst and strangely enough, I don't have to worry about frequencies either. Love the radio, does everything I need and more.

It can be used for electrics. When running a one way on a 4WD touring car it can be used to turn down the brakes so you don't get the handbrake effect so strongly. With a spool I leave it at 100%.

Yeh acko, as swanny said 3PM has throttle exponential (curvature) Typed up a longer more detailed post but then thought better of it. It'll just attract the know all flamers anyway You can have a bash with my 3PM if you think it's what ya want man. I just found that using throttle exp. didn't teach me to stop mashing the throttle in 540 toasting days. I ended up switching it back to 0 (linear) and practised being smoother with the trigger

yeah wot i want is a more responsive feel to my throttle so i acctualy have to use less throttle for the same power. ie..... full throttle is peeked just after half way of the travel of the trigger if its possible. i feel like i have to move the trigger heaps when negosiating the s, s for instance. just driver preferance i guess.

i started this thread as i was just browsing transmitters and id never seen ATL before and just wondered what it was.
ive still gotta look at kevs ko mars as i was to busy with my car again last week between races to have a good look as im running my updated chassis now.

THANKYOU TO ALL THAT REPLIED

Hey Acko
I suggest you take a look at the Nomadio React. It has all of the things mentioned above and more, prob for the same price if not less.
Just thought it might be worth you taking a look is all.
Cheers

I think you'll find the Nomadio is more expensive than a 3PM.
