I have used both the regular GTB and now have the SS GTB, and both are good units. the SS GTB can only be run with a 2.4ghz radio and apparatly runs cooler. I run 13.5t and have taken off the fan, and it still never gets warm. I think that most of the thermaling issues are more related to incorrect gearing of the motor, which then causes the motor to overheat and shutdown, most of the time its not the esc. if you are not phazed by cooking a motor, cut the blue sensor wire - this is the temp sensor wire. your motor will never thermal, but you might kill it in the process...

I like the LRP stuff mainly because you do not have to do a major re-wire when switching between brushed and BL. Other than that, the performance and quality between the two is more or less identical.

Default LRP

Well I have just bought a LRP TC spec today because my LRP Q2 blew up on the weekend, I have read up on them and have always seemed to go back towards the LRP. I will let you know how it goes in a couple of weeks

not sure at the moment. When I first get it I think i will stay with my current 19T brushed and then move to the 5800 motor once it is accepted to run (closest to a 19t)
I just needed a new speedy after the weekend and I think it would have been a waste of money to go for another q2 or q3 because i would prefer in the long run to go brushless

Don't think you can wrong with either. I'd be basing it purely on price (are either on special at the moment?) and/or warranty.

LRP have a nice limited lifetime warranty (can be slow but dependant on LHS), unsure about Novak.

I am very new to brushless so just going on what i have been told. I know a couple of people were running the 5800 speed passion motors in 19T for the much more masters. I guess the next questions would be around what motor, been looking at ferrals new line but still not sure

When I saw 5800 I immediately thought of the Novak motor, not Speed passions.
