What classes are looking "voteing" on?

Which rules are you looking to amend?

Which LiPo's do you suggest be on the allowed battery list?

I think they should only be allowed to be used in Mod as that really is
as it says Modified..
there is no need fore them to be used in stock or 540

i am keen but after discussing with an older racer and thinking about it.
id only vote yes if orrca and arrmac or what ever approved it reason is that why buy lipo if u cant run qld titles nationals or even interclubs?
im actually not to sure now as i do like attending the qlds its a fun meet and i cant afford to have lipo's for clubs and nimh for everything else, one or the other.
big thing that started me off on lipo was the failure rate of nimh cells in particular ib4200 wc cells ive heard hundreds of account about venting leaking and even exploding not to mention brand new packs having dead cells in them.
but gp4300mpv seem to fix this so now im not sure if lipo are nessary.

Yes I have seen one go boom, but not at the track. the problem is they can go off from over charging, over discharging and copping a hit and you dont always know when the last two have happened.

I just dont trust them...

...
Exactly.
I cannot imagine spending $500 (apparently you need 2 packs to go through a race day and obviously a lipo-capable charger) for batteries legal in only a handful of races.

i have no doubt that Lipo is the future.
but managing the transition will be critical to its success locally.
we don't have big outlaw classes or events like the US to begin with, so the take-up phase is unlikely to be as fast.

a lipo exploding is a little more violent.

Lipos are coming no doubt about it, but there is alot of red tape to wade through first.... how will insurance companies react with pub-li insurance when they realise they are being more and more widely used in rc which they insure? thats just one situation....

But i do agree its time to start thinking/talking about it all

indeed only a matter of time. the take-up in the US seems to be big. It will be the in thing for sure. sub-c's will be a thing of the past.

Remember when BL was introduced? Most people said it'd never make it, and never replace gear in mod guys cars... hrmmm Now you see a handful of guys at a meet still using brushed.

Everything else is lipo powered, planes, helicopters, all sorts. It's kind of ancient still running nimh in our cars...

It's nice to say, "yeah lets do it", but as mentioned, there's things that need clarification first. And safety is really important.

I've seen guys at some local track's using lipo, they also use ceramic fire-pots when charging. Perhaps an absolute requirement when trackside....

Legalising Lipo's is fine but this can't be done until they are available for all configurations of cars. At the moment there is no Lipo that can be used as a saddle pack as they are are to high and what about the cars that use a 4x2 saddle pack arrangement. On road is fine as all cars are designed on the same platform but it's a different story in offroad.

lipo saddles in an X-5:

I don't think the saddle thing will be an issue. either car or cell manufacturers will work it out. no doubt the day will come where cars are designed more for lipo than they are for sub-C. perhaps not in the near future, but definately eventually.
