I recently bought one from Jaycar, stock code MP3075, it was $189.
13.8 V
Continuous 15 AMP
17AMP 50% duty cycle
20AMP surge

have a look on their site jaycar.com.au under power adaptors > powersupplies

Well it depends what you are charging at.. if you are crazy and are charging at 8 amps.. you would probably put only one on it.. but if you charge at 5-6 amps like normal people, you could be able to put 2 on it.....
As for a lamp, why dont you go and get one that runs off normal 240V power from k-mart and then put a daylight globe in it?

Jaycar have some very good supplies, the best IMO is a small 15 amp i think it is with a couple of gauges on the front, i think it is mid 200 dollars.

You need roughly 6-7 amps per charger, 12-13 amp for 2 chargers, and 15-18 amp for three chargers.

Spend as much as you can afford, it is a one off purchase and will last many many years of use. Try and get a decent light one some of the basic jaycar ones are very very heavy.

do they all have gauages at the front so that you can control the ammount of amps going into the chargers. because at the moment i only have one charger so i will only need 6-7 amps. and is there any other places where you can get power supplies other than jaycar.

Hmm, well some are, some arent. At my local club (forrestville aka northside) most people are using the computer power supplies, and they seem to be alright. If they have been done PROPERLY they are alright. But beware of the bodgy ones.

I was using the jaycar jaytech10amp psu for bout 2 years with no probs.. it is a bit heavy and large (compared to a poota psu) but it was very reliable and was capable of handling high currents than it was rated at, tho i wouldn't recommend doing that.

as for weight: generally speaking, better quality electronic gear will weigh more than equivilent less quality gear. in this case, a better power supply will have a larger heatsink and a very sturdy case. try comparing equivilent hi-fi units.. an akai unit will be significantly lighter than a sony or yamaha.

as Besercoe said above, it should be a one off purchase so get something that will cater for the future.
