hey guy's out there i am haveing a heap of troubble with the handling of my c4.1 the deal is no speed and no grip
so far i've worked on speed with - winds turns gearing throttle settings it's fast enough.
for handleing - tyers, every foam tyer compund arround i've tried it and from 3 different companys, camber, castor, toe, springs, ride height. plus working on smaller thing's.
my currtent setup is
front:
camber - 1.5 deg
castor - smallest spacer at front
tamiya blue springs
piston hole 2
40wt oil
outer tower mount
0 deg toe
corally pupple
rear:
camber - 2.0deg
toe - 2 deg
corally orange spring
piston 2
3rd hole in, on shock tower
40wt oil
corally pinks
the track is kambah canberra (bumby as driving on corigated iron)
since the dust storms and bush fires i have not been able to get my car to go we had the track washed but had no affect. we are laying down VHT it helps a little but my car wont go on the pace an amazing amount of tail and i'm not alone the other drivers are also struggleing to make grip.
any suggestions would be good
this is a desperate cry for help i can't stand being at the bottom of the feild

well that's no enough information to work with. firstly you need to break the corner down in three steps.
1. Turn in
2. Middle
3. Exit.
Tell us what it does in these three steps and we can start to work it our. Also what camber link hole are you using.
Spend the money and buy the xxx chassis tuning guide.
Damm brilliant little book.. gives complete breakdown on car handling. I used the guide did some of the setup tips now i'm bucket loads faster.. Best thing the guide is written in plain english so an average driver like myself can understand it.
when the car enters the corner its fine when i hold the line(just off the paint) in the middle of the corner it drifts out a little then when you compinsate for the drifting the tail whips out it's easy enough to bring back in but i'm loosing heaps of time.
there is only the camber link holes on the rear i am running, well it's hard to eplain see pic

thanks for your help
Which side of the car is this when lookiong at it from the rear to the front.
I'd try the hole directly above from the one u r using. Try and get the shock a bit more layed over and stretched out on the back. and straighten it a little on the fron if you can so it is more upright
Then i'd goto running about 1 degree camber all around so that the tyres are like / \.
also what is the Wt of the diff oil?
and drop to about 0.5 degree on the back for toe instead of 2.
Try that and see how it goes.
U could also add 0.5 - 1 degree of toe out on the front.
c4.1's are electric they dont have sealed diff's nor do they contain diff oil.
by me dropping back to 1deg of camber i would be geting alot of wear on the out side very little on the inside the tyers. i'm pretty sure there is no probs in this area anyway it's more to do with shocks, toe and roll centers.
u said i should move the camber mount up one hole i'd like to hear why u think so
well when it stands up more straight.
i was told it lets the back end become loose on the track a bit, i said loosen the back up a bit, but then do more on the front.
sorry i didnt know it was elect.
plus i would try having more inside wear on the tyre when in a straight line, so that when u enter a corner and it rolls on the tyre, u have even more rubber touching.
thats y i said have the camber like / \

thats how i have my camber ive been racing for a fair while and i know that puting 1deg of camber like so / \ i will lose cotact on the inside egdge when cornering because i am running soft springs as the car is electic. i need more camber to get even wear and contact
there is quite a difference in setup between electic and nitro harder springs thicker oils thats why less camber would be used but the is a difference in weight speed amoung other things i apreciate you trying to help but theres not much u can do
