Just got home from a crazy two weeks in the states, had an awesome time.
Unfortunatly for me, Cactus was somewhat of a disaster. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. I had electrical problems in 4wd in practice which was a bit of a nightmare as fault finding a phantom problem in practice is really hard as you have to wait minimum an hour between runs at best due to the line up for a spot on the drivers stand, all in all I might have got 6 minutes of trouble free running in practice which really hurt me.
In truck, I kept popping CVD's from the outdrive, and it only became apparent after Mick Cragg looked at my truck after racing that I had a small crack in the rear chassis plate which allowed the arm to move hence popping the CVD. Lesson to be learnt, zero preparation equals zero results, the truck hadn't even come out of my suit case after NZ.
My 2wd was really good, I just made too many costly mistakes in qualifying, and when the field is so competitive you simply cant make bonehead mistakes like I did. My 2wd was awesome the whole time there, it was super fast at the So Cal clubbies the week before, which was really good for the confidence as there are some very fast drivers at So Cal.
All in all the trip was an absolute blast, got to say thank you to everyone that was sending out messages of support over Live RC, it was really cool having Jimmy Babcock announce all your messages over the PA
