Best way to find out is to have a wander to a few of your local hobby shops, have a look around and ask a few questions. Parts availability of really dependant on your area. For example around where I live there's two shops with a load of xray parts. But in other areas in the same city there's more of an emphasis on HPI or Tamiya (and not much xray)

Check your LHS and the club you want to race at.

It depends on where you live. Some hobby shops stock parts for cars but quite often they may also have to order in parts which you require which should only take a couple of days or so.

You would have to check out your local shop to determine what they stock and how well they get on with the importer when they need parts.
