I was actually going to get the JR XS3 40Mhz to go with my brushless setup, if the 40Mhz has interference with brushless setups would the 27Mhz be ok?

I've used the 27Mhz and 40MHz and I was getting interference when accelerating. Might not be a problem with your car, but the spektrum fixed it for me. I have a GTB 6.5 in a Losi BK2. If anything, the spektrum's are a nice insurance policy so that your car doesn't go out of control because of frequency clashes.

Here is my 2 cents I originally had a xs3 40mhz when I went racing with it for the first time there was one guy who had a 40mhz xs3 as well and we were racing in same heat that night(nitro) and we both had problems all night even though we had our frequencies far apart. I bought a dx3 soon afterwards and have never looked back.

Default 40Mhz + Brushless

I'm running a Cyclone driftcar with B/L 4.5 and am using Futaba 3PJsuper with 40Mhz PCM futaba receiver no problems.

Did you try putting a power capacitor across the power input to the receiver. Usually when you get glitching under acceleration it's because the motor is drawing too much current and you get a voltage drop to cause the receiver to either drop out or have a massive range reduction.

Actually from what I've read the onroad mod guys had problems with the first generation Spektrum receivers glitching for this very reason.

Most people went spektrum because of the glitching caused by 40meg. Disappeared as soon as the Spektrum was fired up. The glitching with Spektrum is only caused by pissweak BECs and running heavy current draw motors and not very good battery power. Easily fixed wheres the 40meg interference requires drastic monetary input. Think twice before you commit

Not in this country they don't. Toy Traders only brings in 29mhz transmitters. Also the Futaba 2PL is a 29mhz AM transmitter.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Sold the JR and purchased a 3PK with HRS Spektrum. No problems since. Longer range without Freq clashes. The 40meg and Brushless combo dont work well together most of the time. If spending a reasonable amount for a controller spend a bit more and buy piece of mind as well as a bit of future proofing.
