Hi everybody, I am going to hold the 1st meeting for MORRCC on the 28th of January 2007.
The Track is located at Carrington Reserve, Carrington Drive, Sunshine, next to Ace Karts. Travel all the way up Carrington Drive until the end of the sealed road. There is an open fence and you will drive onto a dirt road, the BMX track is immediatly to your left.
I will not have anything major laid out until the day before the race meet as the area is still home to a lot of BMXs and Motor bikes.
The meet wil be manually lap counted for the time being.
It would also be advisable to bring sun shade, etc, as there is no protection from the sun what so ever.
This might keep the clowns off the Keilor track, or whats left of it........

I run my nitro hound on SCHMACKOS, keeps him going all day.
Team Swatch, helping people know when its time to "get back in there" in a dark alley..
It's good to see there's something happening with nitro off-road, especially with the current state of the Keilor track now. Just curious - what time are you starting this meeting roughly?

I don't remember you or any of the gas drivers ever been told that you could come and use the KEILOR "ELECTRIC" Car Clubs track!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And when we/I find out the persons name that has done the last lot of damage you might see my name in the papers under the heading " Dingo driver found murdered by a racer" The club has had trouble dealing with the council for about 2 years now, and during that time the track has been run down to where it is now as the members don't see why we should be keeping the track up to racing requirements when the gas invaders come along and do their best to dig up or destroy any resemblence of the track and surroundings. I am sick and tired of Hobby Shops selling gas cars/trucks to the public or whoever knowing there is no tracks available for them to use the cars/trucks. It seems easiest for them to send the people to Keilor or any other poor clubs area or track. If these Shops want to sell these gas vehicles then they should form a club and get their own bit of land, make their own track, do the upkeep on the track, deal with the council, deal with the IDIOT drivers wrecking their track and not giving a stuff about anybody else but themselves. Nah it's it easier to just send people to anywhere as long as they get their money for the vehicle.

Not a whole lot, but then I usually face of attitude with more attitude.
I did say from the beginning that he obviously had an axe to grind. The fact is the club has welcomed nitro cars & drivers recently so he really can't complain.
Cache Ya,
Craig.

Ozracer is the president of KEORCA. He has fruitlessly worked for two years now trying to get a drivers stand built. (He is a founding member of Keilor, a track that's still there. How many Nitro tracks are there? Oh NONE!)
The council is totally un-cooperative.
We finally get a semi suitable stand organised (Thanks Ron and Gerry), get some racing happening and some clown comes along and destroys the track. It was'nt an EP racer, it was a bogan Nitro hack, which there appears to be many of. I can see why he has an axe to grind.
The real Gas racers don't go near Keilor. How many times have I heard: "That track is too small"? Of course it's too fucking small! It's not designed for Nitro!
It's the hacks who continue to use and abuse the facility. I wonder how many of them would show up for a working bee? OK granted this thread has offers of help.
I for one like to race all day and not home with my ears ringing, therefore I race EP. "Oh man I've flamed out", "Oh man it wont start!"
Two cycle engines in 2007?
No wonder there is no track within ninety minutes of Melbourne.
Maybe Simon can build you a track, or five, he's still talking shit about it!
Craig,
This is'nt directed at you, everyone is frustrated at the moment.
I really hope Ron gets his Nitro track up and running ASAP and we can find a venue with a fence around it!
Neil

Thanks Neil, and I know the frustration level.
Having seen what was done to the Keilor track I can understand why people are up in arms. FWIW of all the people I know who frequent there (nitro drivers all) none would condone the damage and pretty much all of them would be happy to go elsewhere if there were just somewhere else to go. Even the disused BMX track at Tullamarine now has "No R/C" signs.

You and me both!

Mate, less than the diplomatic response I would've expected from the club president. No matter, you are correct in most of what you've stated. I was told about the Keilor track where I purchased the nitro RC, they also recommended the BMX Track in Tullamarine which I have been to before but most the time people seem to be on it on motorcycles, making it a bit hard to use the RC on it. Every time I've been to your track (which I originally thought was a public track), there have almost always been other off roaders there, and always nitro - but I assure you, they are not digging up and damaging the track, so I would suggest your culprits may be something other than nitro RC? I have been there many times with my Electrics as well, as I have 3 times more electric vehicles than I do nitro, and have taken part in RC meets for many years now, but am new to the scene in Australia. As a point of interest, I did see a couple youngsters riding the BMX bikes on it one day, but still I think the greater part of the damage is from the weather. You may or may not have seen a post I started earlier about wanting to help out with any upcoming repairs/upgrades to the track, so I hope you see that I am not some "bogan" out to tear up your track, just another RC'er looking for a place to ride...
If you do decide to have a repair day, feel free to pm me and I'm happy to pitch in where I can.
