Since it won't be a pointscore there's less inscentive to run the meet this Sunday.
I was hoping for more input, but not to be. So we can give everyone enough notice, Leo maybe it's best if you can delete the meet for this Sunday. There doesn't seem to be much interest.

In particular I would like to thank DYKM and his lovely wife "Short Circuit" for once again giving me a home away from home for the weekend. Your hospitality is, as always, truly appreciated.
I would also like to thank "Thou shalt not pass" MAV for being a bloody champion as always.
Marg - well , just for being Marg and not requesting payment!!
Mikey - For being such a professional, courteous driver on the track.
Tom "Pockets" Clifford - thanks again for your suggestions and tips on the motors and gearing - great teamwork. Not only are you a great mate, you are a sport as well.
Jason Milward - thanks for taking a whole day out to scrutineer, god knows you would have been itching to drive.
It has to be said that the Ryde club is truly moving ahead in leaps and bounds. It was also excellent to see some good old fashioned light hearted sledging going on between clubs both during the meeting and after at the presentations. NSW is sure lucky to have two great clubs working towards bringing the hobby back to where it belongs. It was great to see the St Ives and Ryde committee members talking together and having a laugh.... racing can only get stronger with the clubs working together.
Cheers guys,
Looking forward to the next round (if I am not on shift)
Cheers
Darryn

Bungle, maybe a simple text field that must have a particular word in it, like they use for some forum search pages. Eg, "Whats the C in R/C stand for?". Or "How many wheels does an R/C buggy have?". Something simple that people would remember each time they fill out the form, and something an automated spam script wont be able to pick up.
Yeah i'll try something like that next, maybe an easy multiple choice question.
Have you guys thought about racing at Ryde on Sunday BUT have a competition within a competition, make Ryde a pointscoring round for Snive drivers, I'm sure there could be a benificial outcome for both clubs and this could be an annual AWAY day fixture for both clubs( Snives at Ryde and Ryde at Snives),
Don't shoot me down if you disagree, it's just an idea
cheers
Steve

hey dudes, i was thinking (uh oh i hear u say ) but i overheard some talk about having a different race meet set up a bit like the interstate where each team has a set number of drivers, so each club would have 2 drivers in each class, which i reckon sounds cool, now if we're thinking of different ways of running challenge cup meetings (mixing up the formats) how about one of the rounds as an interclub enduro, 5 clubs, 2 teams per club, 6 drivers per team and have a stock enduro and a mod one, each race could be 3 hours, 2 packs per driver for stock, 3 packs per driver for mod points could be allocated something like 220 for the win, decreasing by 5 for each position so if u won and came second in both races, your club would get 870 points. there are more numbers in stock than in mod so allow stock drivers to step up to fill out the teams if there a teams short of drivers including allowing them to race in the stock race then run in the mod one if need be, we could work out a fair way to allocate points to drivers championships too, but i just think it would be an awesome day

Losi 17.5 motors and esc wins 4wd and Truck stock 2009 NSW Club Challenge Series
The other series being proposed is kind of like the Challenge Cup was back in the ORRCA days, and will be a separate series to the current Club Series.
I agree it's a good idea to bring it back for so many reasons. As long as we can get the interest then it's a goer!!
I haven't heard of any talk about "mixing up" the current format of the Club Series, and IMO I don't think it should be changed from it's current format. It gives everyone from every club the option to break into "representative" driving with minimal cost.
An enduro is a selected few only from each club.
The enduro is a good idea for those interested though Mikey, agreed. I guess it's just another idea to throw out there to guage interest. Also the battery rule is a curly one, I think it is best measured by total MAh rather than by say 2 or 3 packs (some have 3800's, some have 5400's). If everyone drives their allocated stint then it doesn't really matter, but if you have 1 or 2 cars in your team that cannot finish then the others are really under the pump to make runtime.

cool tom, yeah i wasnt sure if that old style meeting was in addition to or in place of one of the challenge cup meetings
as far as runtime goes, i made it reasonably easy to make it, in mod u needed 10 mins, stock was avg 15 mins per stint, remembering its a team thing, so an example would be i would have 2 spare 4900 trakpowers i could lend to team mates to bump up our runtime and my format includes 24 drivers from each club essentially so i figured not many if any would miss out, and some would have to run in both enduros to fill out the teams, it would be good to organise something though, maybe something like two christmas bash's, because normally ryde and CH would have one and so do we, so have the orrca style meeting as one bash and one enduro, i dunno, just throwing ideas out there, at least if there was interest the would be plenty of time to organise the meetings

Mikey,
Yeah,
I put the feelers out to all the clubs for an interclub shield which will be a one day event where 2 drivers from each class from each club will compete for a perpetual trophy. Ryde, Maitland, Snives and the Barbarians (combined other clubs) have signaled interest so I will be putting it together for 2010 along these lines..........
2 drivers per class per club (total 10 drivers per class).
5 clubs (St Ives, Ryde, Maitland, Castlehill, Barbarians - Best of the rest).
6 Classes (or 8 if we agree to include S Stock).
5 Races per class on a rotating Grid with points for places (same as Interstates).
1 day event to be held at a time to be designated.
Track selection on a rotating basis (like the States)
Club hosting States can’t host event.
That's the story so far
btw, I have also been chatting to Mark (Qld) and Ray (Vic) so we can get some continuity between the QLD, NSW & VIC racing calenders. This should be a good thing for everyone.

It was going to be a one day event in addition to the Club Series.
I was hoping to keep the enduro separate again so we could perhaps do the enduro around Xmas and have a big Xmas get together with celebrations, perhaps on a Saturday night and make it a family event.
Anyway, I have heaps on the drawing board so it should be a great 2010.
btw,
Has anyone heard what's happening with the Nationals in 2010?

To answer my own question, looks as though the 2010 EP Nationals will be in Townsville in early August. This is not confirmed yet!
