Yeah........ another XXX4......... alright.
Bring it on.
Mav's in a flat spin now.
Off to Canberra now. See you all next meeting.
Good luck Mav, don't forget to make Goose eject so you don't hit your head on the cannopy.
We used to have a little song for the XXX4 G Spot + when Cam and Mick had there's and did more DNF's than you'd think possible....
A Triple X 4 let me down, made me look like a clown......
Paul Johnson put a XXX4 into the drivers stand at full tilt, making the stand shake (we could feel it!) and then rejoined the race like nothing had happened. We stopped singing the song after that.......

Hey Guys. Its been a little while since Ive popped my head in on this thread as Ive been busy shifting states back to the Gold Coast. I do however miss the runs I had been getting in at your awesome facility while I had been staying down that way.
At the last meet I attended there was talk of the possibility of a vintage meeting which could be held there some time in December... Would there be a chance this might be organised? I would be very happy to get right behind this event and I know others are willing to travel should it be on the cards.
I think Ryde has shown a good following with this part of the hobby and I'd be keen to see St Ives lift the bar higher, and besides who wouldn't love to run the 'World's' circuit with a buggy from back in the old days??
Cheers-Jason.

I think you put the moccas on the XXX4. I had 2 DNFs in the first 2 heats. Couldn't recover after that.
Was beaten in the B final by Aaron. What a blinder he had.

An interesting thing came out of the Canberra event in regard to Lipos and weight. Those drivers, including myself, who weighted there cars to just over the minimum got caught with being under weight after a race.
It seems that when everything gets hot, your car can weigh up to 5-7 grams lighter.
In my first 2 heats, my 2WD weighed in at 1504 grams before the race, and 1498 grams after. This was weird but there were a few other drivers in the same boat.
My recommendation is to have your car about 10 grams over weight and that should take care of any worries in regard to weight.
Weird eh.

Exactly right Mav, even 15-20 grams over, you wont notice it driving, but you'll notice it when the car gets disqualified if its border line, remembering that often there will be different scales at different meetings, even the wind blowing
Congrats on your effort in the 2wd man, unlucky with the 4wd, i expected my thing to not finish many races but it held together suprisingly well, but my truck is a jet, its one of those cars you barely have to change setup, like my xx4

Thanks mate.
Congrats on your truck results. Absolutely blitzed them.
Going to get Aaron a truck in the coming months. XXXT-CR. Might hit you up for some setup tips.

The website shows the next on-road meet as the 9th of November.
Is that right? On Challenge Cup Day at Ryde?
Is this the right thread?

Reason: Ammendment
The Kiwi escapee has another question, if i run mod in my truck and buggy, do I have to run 5cell or can i just use my normal 6 cell packs as thats all I have.
Also. these Lipo batteries, do you have to buy a specific brand, Ive been hunting and cant find the rules for hard or soft case, and max amps.
6 cell is fine, in Oz you can run 6 cells or less, its up to you, Lipo there is a roar approved list from which you can choose your batteries, hopefully someone can post the link, they need to be hard case, you'll need a lipo sack to charge them in too

6-cell packs are fine
I heard that from next year we can only use hard-cased Lipo packs at the club. However, some other clubs only allow ROAR approved packs and we need to charge them in a fireproof bag.
So, weather looks like it might be ok.
Got my Mamba max back going to see if I can break it or the gearbox in the truck in preparation for next weekend..
