Arrow Club Challenge

Here I go again,
We are still looking for workers for the CLub Challenge if we are to host a round. Currently we have 5 names plus 2 maybe's. Considering that the Canteen alone would need 4 for a full day, I do not see the offers of help coming to the numbers that are needed.
We have also had another offer, but this offer is 'conditional' if he does not have to work and has no other arrangements that will clash with CC.

We need:

Scrutineers.
Track workers (before and after the event).
Canteen helpers.
people willing to organise sponsors.
Purchasing and storing supplies for canteen.
Organising trophies.
2 Officials to be on the racing circuit at all times which means we would also need relief for them plus relief for the other workers.

I feel that the same lot of workers that give their time to St. Ives club on a regular basis should not have all the extra work fall on their shoulders.

Please, give me a definate response.....no maybe's, by Wednesday. Considering that we do not have a date given us as yet, this also needs to be taken into consideration.

Thanks,
Margaret.

it always seems to be the same group of people that help out with major events , how about a bit of new blood to step up to the plate and help out or it will just not happen, come on where is the support for the club.

Yeah I agree some more people need to step up! I don't really race offroad anyone, nor do I race electric, yet I'm still more than happy to help for the day!

It's time for all racers to ask themselves just how much having the event means to them, and if it means a lot then find a way to help make it happen.

I think the fact that Stuart has finally realised he cannot carry the onroad and offroad workload on his shoulders and stepped down from offroad should be a timely reminder for everyone that these things happen in cycles, and if we lose the half dozen people currently carrying both the onroad and offroad side of the clubs then there will be no club.

I don't want to scare new racers away by saying everyone MUST invest their time, I just want everyone to understand the tracks aren't setup/prepared by magic, they take work, and any little bit of help that people can provide the better off the club will be....

Rant over...

..for now...

Can anyone assist, does Team Associate use Metric or Imperial tools? and what are the common ones that I might have to use?, because sad that this might seem I think I will have to move to a B4.
ALSO are guys really thinking of a STOCK 4WD Class, as I would consider that a great progresion into 4WD.
My wife and I are definately in, Paul Paardekooper is keen to so there is three which means that we'll have the minimum amount at most meets. Strap in a stock motor or BL 13.5 and join in the fun

I would sincerely love to raise my hand, but I've got two tiny reasons why I can't commit for anything next year

Speaking of which, I felt one of them kick last night. Far out - brings it all into perspective. It was great to actually feel some life in there. Just amazing.

Can someone please address the mistake in final 3 of 4WD mod.

I have a missing lap - lap 13 has me down as a 34 sec lap which is obviously 2 laps.

thanks...

We just need to decide if we actually want to hold this event or not. it was pretty 50/50 on the weekend.

as to the people needed here is my 2c worth on the minimum requirement for the event

Scrutineers - 2 people all day
Track workers (before and after the event)
Canteen helpers - 0 dont run the canteen
people willing to organise sponsors - 0 not required
Purchasing and storing supplies for canteen - 0 dont run the canteen
Organising trophies - 1 person
2 Officials to be on the racing circuit at all times which means we would also need relief for them plus relief for the other workers - not required. has never been and will never be. does not even happen at the nationals until finals....

What we do need to do is prepare the track before hand and have someone to run the track on Saturday for practice. Michael and I are happy to open it up on sat and close it down and water it etc...

Sunday morning it will need some work which if 6 people volunteered it would take 30minutes.

We are going to have to start to do this regardless now as Stu needs to step down.

What I have detailed would be the bare minimum required to just run the event. If we want the canteen we need to have people step up. It makes money for the club but its not a requirement.

Good point re the canteen Ben. It's a good fund raiser for the club, but if you can't find the people to run it, you could always invite the local Rotary club or Scout group to run it as their own fund raiser.

I hope you guys decide to run a round. Always love a big race at Snives!

Cheers,
Scotty P.

That is a very good idea Scott!
As Ben said the canteen is good for the club's bottom line. IMO it would be a shame to miss out on the money there, but it does seem to be putting more pressure on the club members to have it.

Who is coming to on road this sunday, with close racing in all catergeries it should be a great day out, to give you an idea there was 0.7 seconds between the feild for fastest lap in open nitro in the 15 minute final, and you clould through a blacket over the feild in stock.

I'm ordering my new onroad kit tomorrow so if someone wants a bargain on a brand new R40 with spare throw me a PM with an offer and save me the hassle of putting it on ebay.

The R40 will be at onroad this Sunday for inspection so if anyone is thinking of joining onroad and wants a brand new front running car then come and have a look.

I would be willing to do the kit, with all the brand new spares, plus a OS 12tr engine in very good condition for $320 (all up worth of about $750) for someone who is considering racing at the club.

I can only get Warwick to put a note on the Web-site and it will be counted into the pointscore. Impossible for me to go into the results and alter it, I would not be able to show any split time for the added lap. This will show you as doing 17 laps, and 1st place in the 3rd final of 4WD Mod.

Cheers,
Marg.

For a small (like maybe 5 figure) donation to the Club, I will add an extra lap on to your 3rd Final.
Thanks for letting me know about the lap, much appreciated.

Cheers,
Marg.
